They seem to be made in India, but for ~$65 shipped from Japan, these shirts are f!@king fantastic. XL is right about the size of a Gustin slim XL, but shorter. They may not be Iron Heart, but these are every bit of what I was hoping for for a heavy, non-brushed flannel. Very much in-line with the fabric quality on the Gustin Monster Twills, but the lines are sewn straight on these guys. I've included the pictures from the site of the ones I bought.

Rodeo Brothers also sent me a Sugar Cane catalog I haven't looked at yet.
On further analysis, though, I will admit that these are not quite as heavy as the G Monsters.

So what's the verdict???

I was pretty nervous based on the measurements, since those provided have them a full two inches narrower than my gustin size, but I lucked out and it's a pretty solid fit for me. I'm still going to hold my breath a bit when I wash them, but I've got a little bit of space. The fit is consistent between all three. I don't have a uhf to compare it to, but I can probably snap a pic next to a g monster tomorrow. Still hoping I'll be able to nab a crazy check uhf in November, though.

Yeah I almost picked up the two blue ones that I liked a few weeks ago when RB sent out the email for these. 50 bucks a pop, can't go wrong I guess. They do look fairly substantial too. What weight would you guess they are? Are the colors in the pics pretty true to real life?

Those shirts look great, actually..... I'm maybe about to buy all 3. Fabric patterns are VERY interesting, to say the least
***Nevermind..... I poked around and found Oni Olive Secret Denim in my size, couldn't resist.

There were no surprises with regard to color, and I wanna go back for the creamsicle colored one (I have a problem). I stayed away from the blue since I've got so many damn blue pants I need to try to wear, and already have a similar shirt with snappies. I would put them about half an ounce under the gustin monster twill I have, but I can't recall the weight on that right now.

This brand name rivals the california shirt made in portugal.
Or maybe there is a Houston, India?

This brand name rivals the california shirt made in portugal. Or maybe there is a Houston, India? are you new to the Japanese repro market? There's a good chance the company doesn't even know Houston is a city in Texas. I'm not entirely happy about it, but anymore -- ever since bentin ruined all domestic patterned shirts -- I'd rather support these guys than j crew who would charge me $125 for this after making it in China (or Alex mill who will do the same and sell it for $200). If the craft and quality is there, and the price is reasonable, I'm gonna give it a shot. I really can't afford to purchase $250-300 shirts all the time (and mostly ever), and if the $50 version from India is seen straight, that feels better than "I paid $100 for this shirt that looks like it was sewn by a toddler, but at least it's from the USA".

And then again, I still believe that's the same reason TS moved so much shirt production to Portugal, and largely moved away from patterned shirts for some time, but that's me conspiracy theorizing again.

I am aware of peculiar Japanese brand names, particularly in the repro market. I didn't think they were trying to pull a fast one on anybody. I merely thought this name was notable, even for Japanese brands, in its specificity and the stark contrast between the chosen name and reality.
