I know most of us have our denim fits dialed in but there are some fits that we can wear even if it isnt ideal.
For example, I usually take a 34" waist, 12.5" thigh, 8.5" knee and a 7.5-7.75" hem. This is my ideal fit....not too loose and not too tight. However, I do have several pairs of jeans that fit tighter around the thighs and knees. I'm not really opposed to them so I think it boils down to comfort. My Strike Golds are really slubby and surprisingly soft, my only gripe being the hem. My 3sixteen st-100x also fit snug but those were under spec. I'll wear them eventually but for now my G denim are my best fitting. Sad but true.
What about you? Do you prefer ball-hugger jeans or do you prefer some room?

Funny that you asked. Spending some time right now compiling measurement charts for various jeans.
To answer your question, I like mine slightly loose in the waist and slightly loose in the rest of the pant with a taper.
I'm starting to branch out and try different fits but so far I do like the fit of most of my G's but would like to add a little bit to the front and rear rises.
I really dont like the regular straight fits where the crotch hangs down to far.

Interesting topic, and I guess it really just depends on your build and the look you're going for. I'm slim and found that with most of my G collection, I tend to gravitate towards a fit somewhere in between the Slim and Skinny fit. If it's the skinny, I don't intend to wash or soak them for fear of shrink and jeggings. My Italy BlackxBlack are probably a somewhat "loose" fit for a skinny, although I can't bulk up my calves anymore or I'm going to risk a calf blowout. My slim fits are probably ideal after a soak. My Japan Standard and American Antique have that fit through the leg. I just tried the Brave Star skinny skeleton and I'm thinking they may fall into the borderline zone - they are definitely a pair I'd like to stretch out and break in so they don't get too skinny. I do also really like the Slim Darryl cut from Soso - it's got a decent taper to it, but overall fits well.
As for the waist, I tend to stick with what fits with out cutting off circulation.
