Korea always had interesting concoctions. My favorites were sweet potato with shrimp or sweet potato with water chestnuts. So good. That's not even Pizza anymore. You gotta stick with the classics.

Eh, it's not bad to experiment. Locally there are Greek places that put gyro meat, cucumber sauce, and others on pizza that's really good. There was a brick oven joint that had the true Italian classics, but they went out and a burger/pizza joint took over. Never tried it after they went out. I'm not a pizza snob. I'll have Papa Johns once in a while when they have their buy a $25 gift card and receive 2 free pizzas deals.

Korea always had interesting concoctions. My favorites were sweet potato with shrimp or sweet potato with water chestnuts. So good. In Japan I recall places that put hard boiled eggs on their pizza. For obvious reasons I didn't dare try it for fear i'd wind up doing this: They have that in Korea as well. It's not terrible, but at obscene pizza prices in Korea ~$35 a pizza, I wasn't going to have a pizza I didn't absolutely love.

I mentioned Mesa Pizza here in town and they sell a pad thai pizza and man, it's making my mouth water just thinking about it.

Not saying that I don't like some new creations but I think they should be called something else, like Pie

I'm a pizza traditionalist. Until I find a place worth a return visit, I opt to keep it simple - how do they handle a basic cheese pizza. Nothing fancy, nothing on top of the pizza hiding the point of what you ordered - a pizza. No pineapples, ham or BBQ chicken. You want that sh*t on top, order a ham or BBQ chicken. devastitis - I saw &Pizza yesterday at DCA on my way out of town. I was in DC for a conference this past week. Didn't opt for pizza at all. Ended up at Del Frisco's one night and Charlie Palmer's the next night - so I'm ready for pizza to offset the quantity of cow I've consumed.

We have one of the best pizza places in the country here in Portland. Kens Artisan Pizza. Their margherita pizza is incredible, and so is their bacon with guanciale and smoked provolone. Wood fired, perfect crust.
Then there is Hot Lips pizza for by the slice. Always really good pepperoni or more creative options like peach and bacon, or summer squash with feta and a cilantro pesto base.

Pepperoni on a pizza is a different thing than just eating pepperoni by itself, I can respect a good pizza with pineapple. Ive learned that true New York style is better as just cheese (the toppings just get to be too sloppy when eating it on the move), but I've also learned it's a true New York attitude to assume it shouldn't be enjoyed any other way. By design pizza is a great vehicle for many ingredients, though, no reason to limit it to no toppings. Probably a good strategy for keeping garbage pizza out of your belly, though. If they don't have great cheese and decent sauce, a cheese slice is nasty.

I haven't had a better pizza before or since. I Couldn't understand what this place was doing in Florence AZ. Maybe relatives in the federal pen. next door?!?! Stick with the Florence location. Tried the Casa Grande shop on a return visit and it wasn't as good. I hope it's still as good as I remember. Buon Appetito!

I love me some pizza. My love for pizza is real. LOL Here in my area of NJ, we tend to have pizza joints all over the place. Some really good, some just OK. NY and Philly also have some great pizza places. A couple of favorites of mine locally are Pete and Eldas in Neptune, Frederici's in Freehold, Krispy Pizza in Old Bridge, DeLorenzo's in Trenton, and John's in NYC. All in all, New Jersey has good pizza by US standards. We are in many ways an easy state to hate, but if there's one thing we have, it's a diverse range of food. There are always disagreements about who has the best pizza around here. People are pretty passionate about it. A lousy pizzeria won't last long. We end up with articles like this one published often, usually leading to more debate and commentary: www.nj.com/entertainment/index.ssf/2016/01/nj_pizza_power_rankings_a_new_1_and_15_newcomers_o.htmlThe best pizza I ever had was at a dive of a place in Napoli, Italy. It was damn good.
