day off today. Ended up getting three Kaws x uniqlo shirts. Chatted it up with a cute Milf at Disney store about vinylmations. I'm a big street/urban art lover. I think I'll start a thread on that stuff. used to be into this stuff back in the 00's but grew tired of it. Sold some Kaws stuff back then and made some bank

i actually don't like intelligentsia's coffee very much. haven't tried their chai. we have a handful of places serving up some good stuff...i like ipsento and bowtruss, but my favorite beans for home at the moment are the guatemalan dark roast from peace coffee in MN Intelligentsia was so much better back in the day. It sounds weird, but they focused way too much on uniformity. I loved not knowing what magical flavor I'd get out of a bag of beans. That doesn't happen any more. Also, sometimes I just want a cup of drip coffee without the PBTC looking at me like i'm an asshole.

I never got into Kaws but I do have some vinyl and various Japanese stuff from the same time period that I need sell. If either of you guys could PM me some suggestions as to where to unload these I'll maybe begin the task of getting rid of some of them. I cant believe how much the new Hot Toys 12" are going for. I do have a bunch of those, various Sideshow LOTR cast statues, and some Japanese die cast as well. I never display them though. I think my favorite pieces are my Hot Toys/Threezero Brothersrobber and my "Fly me to the Moon" all black astronaut. Yeah, I had a HLJ problem there for awhile.

I had a ltd edition signed/numbered Kaws screenprint that I paid $250 for and sold for $2500 a few years later. I also had a Kaws Bearbrick 1000% that I sold at a profit, $400 I think, and another one that I made money on. But, this was in the early 00's when this stuff was at its peak.

I was really into the Dutch artist, Delta. I think he went to school for industrial design so his 3D art appealed to me quite a bit (and still does). But I grew tired of a lot of these graffiti artists doing the same sh*t over and over again.

The one in Silver Lake was like that but the one in Santa Monica was actually pretty cool. But drip sucks, (as I make press coffee) so that's on you.

I want to walk in, get a cup, and leave without a hassle. FTR, in my kitchen, I have a Wega Atlas EVD 1 group paired with a mazzer super jolly. It takes serious coffee dedication to pay the electric bill to keep that on 24x7. Not to mention the real estate it take up. I used to roast, but I've realized that is something best done by professionals.

Ha, gave roasting a shot too, but decided the same thing. Got a Mazzer at home too, but turn my cheapy Gaggia off.
And pour over takes what, ten extra seconds over drip and doesn't have to sit on a stupid heating pad.

Regarding the art and prints, anyone ever checked out expressobeans.com? It's a one-stop shop for prints and art. I use it mainly for completing my collection of art (i.e. concert poster prints) from the many concerts I've been to over the years. End goal is to have the various art from all of the shows I've been to framed up in my Matt cave. Some are surprisingly worth more than I expected.
Probably the only thing I "collect". Well, aside from denim.

My buddies and myself sold on eBay, word of mouth and those card & collectors shows that happen in malls and convention centers. Limited edition stuff usually sell quicker of course but give those a try. Kid robot forums but haven't used in a long time. There might be those Facebook groups who buy/sell too now.

Against the rockets in the first round, my dad and me got courtside club at Oracle, basically, two rows behind floor seats. Free upgrade because of something that was not fixed. They still bring you food and liquor as well, but funny thing was all the minority Warriors owners didn't want to pay that extra $1 to get delivery so they walked up and just lined up in the club areas. I guess that's how the rich stay rich haha. Old26 at least you took the right photos from your seats

This American Life - one of my favorite ways to kill time.
I also went to Hong Kong for a night, and stayed in a random cheap hotel, because I'm living right across the border in mainland China. I had a hunch I'd read about a good denim shop in HK, so I googled it and realized my random hotel was less than 1km from Benny's and Take 5 ! At Take 5 I got to touch and physically see SO many things I've just seen read about online. I was particularly blown away by the PBJ XX-015... a pair I feel like I never hear about. I'd been saving for something like the Flat Head 3005, but that redirected me. So, went home, did some searching and haggling, and snagged a pair of barely used XX-015's off the world wide web for $85 shipped.
