Bought these because they were cheep ($79). 17oz Gustins. Finding the fit to be good and want to put in rotation. I usually rock a single cuff. So do I send these out to be ChainStiched ($35) or keep the Double Cuff.  |

Can you add "All of the above" to the choices?
I tend to do an initial soak to get my denim right in the range of single cuff/stack for me. In some instances, my G BlackxBlack for example, I do a double stack because a soak isn't gonna work (they are the skinny fit).

I prefer single cuffs, but don't mind double. I only ever wear hems on blackXblack for work.
Yours look fine as is, and not at all worrysome enough to throw $35 at.

Chain stitching is a waste of money. Very few places can do it as a modification, so you have to send it out somewhere, and pay shipping both ways plus $25 to the hemming.
Consider getting a lockstitch hem done locally for $12 total. It's cheaper and stronger than a chainstitch.
Edit: I had my first couple of pairs of selvedge jeans chainstitched. Now I don't bother at all.

Decided to take them to the local Butcher, I mean Tailor (she can't screw up a hem can she?). With a cheep no shipping lock stitch I can simply Roll/double cuff and hide the abomination  Went a bit long to stack but also leaving some length so I can change my mind and get them ChainStiched (of course adding to the cost of these cheep jeans). |

Ive got both the Blue 17's and Japan 17's but cant decide which to wear first. But, i've got so many other unworn jeans that it's hard to choose. Ive been wearing the hell out of my American Standards and they're right where I like them. It's funny that the Am. Standards have become my go to pair because this is the pair with the botched hem. I've been wearing them 5 days a week but they need a wash and may come out of rotation because its so damned hot now |

I still haven't seen any heavily faded Blue 17's or Japan 17's either. Would love to see what the evo is like for these two
