Do you guys think it would make sense to have a forum fade contest similar to what they're doing on SuFu? I know we've already got the Gustin antique fades contest going on but for this one we could have a fade contest like the Denim World Championship where we have weight divisions and any jeans are eligible to enter (so long as they haven't been worn).
I'm kinda on the fence about it, only because i've been sticking to 2 pairs of jeans. A forum fade contest would mean having to stick to 1 pair for an entire year. It's doable but committing to it is proving difficult.
yay or nay?

I would do it if I didn't have to buy another pair - use a pair with not much fading

That's likely because of the stigma associated with Gustin around here these days, and many of those in the contest ended up with a pair they don't like once they were washed/soaked. It seems a good time to get a contest started, since a lot of people around here are focused on wearing a couple pairs rather than collecting lots of pairs and keeping them new looking. Either way, I have several unworn pairs I could consider entry with, though I don't think I have the commitment to a fade project needed for a contest. My antiques are doing alright but I've missed the last couple months of entry.

My antiques are doing alright but I've missed the last couple months of entry. that's the hard part for me...committing. My G American Standards are right where I want them to be and I like the way they're progressing. My N&F LHT's, on the other hand, are proving more difficult to fade. I don't know if it's because they're a heavier weight denim. I used to wear the American Standards on the weekends only and the LHT's Monday thru Friday, but now i've switched their rotation around and am wearing the G's Monday thru Friday. The other part that is difficult is that I have 3 pairs of 17oz denim, which during the summer months absolutely will not get worn. I simply cannot tolerate extreme heat so the idea of wearing heavyweight jeans mid-summer makes me sweat just thinking about it. My American Standards are 12.5oz and my LHT's are 13.50oz, so they're tolerable.

I wouldn't consider wearing denim to fade them until Fall.

It would have to be a year long. So all weights can be used in all seasons. i wont be buying anything for awhile. Not sure how a "wear what you got" contest would work.

Only if we can have a "lifetime" division featuring only Italian denim.

Italian IxI is the most stubborn, slow fading denim I've ever come across personally. Heartbreaker denim
