I'm assuming you have removed all your work shirt top buttons. Clearly all the work shirts are not made to be worn with a tie makeing the top button odd/useless/unnecessary. And what of the shirts with throat latches? What is the purpose of those? I'm not saying that it's not allowed, I'm just saying I don't do it, and it doesn't look right to me. Just because I don't use it doesn't mean I must remove the buttons and sew all their buttonholes shut. I never unbutton the very bottom button of a button-fly, but I don't feel the need to remove the button and sew it shut. Shirts look weird without top buttons, but that doesn't mean I have to use it. You're not wrong to do it, and I'm not wrong to dislike it. Going collar over collar tends to be kind of a weird look to a lot of people but I do it all the time, especially in the Spring and Fall when it's not cold enough for a jacket, but not warm enough to go without a top layer. If it's especially windy or raining and I for some reason can't get out of it or am not wearing a coat, I would then consider it. To support you, I've typed this whole response with my top button buttoned, and while it has done wonders for my posture, I'm hating every second of it. p.s. The way you reacted, I'm afraid you tuck your shirts without a belt now.

Remember, I spend much of my time outside for work, in New England. I can't always wear a scarf because of the equipment I'm useing. Buttoning the top is a simple way of keeping the chill from blowing down my neck. So though I do like the look for me it's also function. psh. we all know you're on your sailboat sporting an ascot.

I have a large adams apple so it's painful for me to button the top button on a shirt but I do like the look.

Most shirts I own I can't even button up the top. Wouldn't button up the top if I could either, unless it's a dress shirt, and even with that I wouldn't button to the top without a tie. Wore my Mechanic shirt again. This shirt in Indigo is an awesome shirt. Don't know how some of you guys slept on it. Because it's not indigo. not sure why that makes a difference. Baby poop, moss, and black aren't special dyes either. This is definitely just as nice as the moss IMO, and I wouldn't spend the same amount on BP or a black shirt.

This is definitely just as nice as the moss IMO, and I wouldn't spend the same amount on BP or a black shirt. The main argument against it was that it's not actually indigo. You asked how people passed on it, and that was how. I have so many blue shirts already, and didn't buy any of these. I would sooner have bought the British khaki though, just because that's a more unique and interesting color in my eyes. Regardless of all of that, the shirt looks great, so I think you made a good choice for you.

Following @untucked lead with the layers 141 under the 76. I like the style and will keep experimenting with combos. Don't like this look at all. Two almost identical shirts. Not enough contrast or texture and both with the same snaps just doesn't work.

Thanks for the critique in case I was hitting the streets as copper button, denim man

Oh the invisible tie debate.
Functionally button it if you need.
For style and for atheistics please leave it unbuttoned.

Not happy I bought it since we are trying to move but I'm telling her in flipping it for profit so that made her feel better.
