thomasss and marauder, thanks for the positive reviews (and pics Thomas). I'm glad the belts were to you liking. After three or four weeks life gets better with the heavy belt, it conforms to you and all the nerve endings that hurt now will be dead  Kidding. It is much nicer after a few weeks though. @untucked, I could make that wallet but I'll need you to sign a medical waiver in the event you actually sit with that thing in your back pocket for any length of time and kill your lower back! That wallet is insane! I think you'd need two, one for each pocket, just for balance when sitting. OK guys still plugging away on the site, super close. Kids got sick the end of last week and it was a little insane here. The site will start off with mostly familiar items and new stuff will be added as the weeks pass. I do have a heavy belt in black coming on the first cut of the site though....haven't forgotten about the wallet effort either. Got a lot of hardware in last week as well. I'll be a bit quiet here in the boards until the site gets launched.

Just want to say thanks to Steve for a great belt that he sent a few weeks ago to me in Scotland. I got the 1.5" burgundy and it came in bang on spec and very quickly too. The cigar box packaging was a really nice touch also.

Got my Voltron Red Lion (1.75") this past weekend and that shit does NOT mess around! It's the perfect size to fit through G's belt loops and the doubled up area where the screws are, plus the end of the belt that overlaps that area, squeezes snugly through the belt loop by the fly. I'd wager denim of lesser constitution would struggle with the Red Lion and be completely destroyed by the Black Lion.
I'm waiting for my leather care products to arrive (they're on a boat from the states to Singapore) before giving this some serious usage. Will put a coat or two of Obenauf's Leather Oil (drying between) and then top it off with the Leather Preservative. It's really humid in Singapore, so I'm not worried about it drying out.. just want to give it a good foundation before I try to tame this animal!
If it ever comes up again, you guys better be quick on the trigger. I bet this would look killer with a vinegaroon treatment.

I've been quite happy with my pink? lion (1.5"). Been wearing it every day since two weeks and it has relented a bit; either that or I've lost sensation due to dead nerve endings.

Steve, I was looking for your site but couldn't find a link here. Could you please put one back up?
Also, will you be doing simple (non-folding) card holder wallets? I use them all the time, but the one I got from G had only two slots and is a bit small, so I only use it on holidays.
I'd like 4 slots with a centre opening for bills, ideally in burgundy or a nice thick leather. They're perfect for shirts or slim jackets.
Finally, what's the latest manly beefy belt situation?

wisdom, glad you like the belt man! And....vinegaroon is coming... wdw... was just cutting up some leather for prototype cardholders. I too have a Gustin cardholder and find it to be a bit small. I'll make a small one like Gustins and a larger, extra slots version I'similar to what you've mentioned. I've been working with 4-5 oz leather and have some 2-3 oz coming in so we'll see what the final iterations look like. www.marshdowngoods.com (not yet live....I'll delete this comment soon when we go live)

You're thinking of the Blue Lion, which had a pink pilot (Princess something-or-other) after the original pilot got all jacked up on a mission and temporarily lost his shit like Cougar in the opening sequence of Top Gun. No I still want a heavy weight belt like the Gustin offering just not cut as wide so I can fit my crossbreed holster over it and get a secured clip. It's the width at 1.75" and the thickness that was too much for the holster. But I still want the same Oz of leather if possible. |

Hey All, Just an update. The site is still in work (yes I know, broken record). We had a combo of a family Ebola outbreak that took everyone down to minimal output for a while and there were a few snags on the side of our service provider in getting our shopping cart capability dialed in. I can't address all the questions above but I will say that there will be a "custom items" option on the site so if the stuff on current offer isn't what you're after, you can hit us up and we can talk about what you need. If you've PM'd me in the last week I'll respond soon. We haven't offered any belts here recently as we didn't want to take orders while we were concentrating on getting launched and end up with a delayed belt orders. From this point on, we're planning to move 100% to site based sales with the exception of a very occasional limited run here. Finally, I'll be changing my avatar momentarily as I don't want to be a walking advertisement all over the forum. It seemed OK before but Marshdown is going to become a real entity, I don't want to use this site as a platform to advertise when I'm over in "other brands" threads talking about how cool another companies leather goods look or gloating about some new Iron Hearts that just emptied my wallet.
