OK guys, here's the update I promised. To start with, I'll get any PM's answered today. We put a halt on selling any product while we were working on the website. Feel free to drop a note at the website itself as we are transitioning all Marshdown related communication over there. Please understand, I'm not saying "don't PM me" I'm just saying please send any general questions to "sales AT marshdowngoods DOT com as you'll get a faster response. If you have a PM in to me here, expect to hear back from me today. As far as the website goes, we are live and have taken orders which are in process. There are several belt options up, more to come (widths, configurations etc as well as a custom order option) and the cardholders will be up soon as well. We are working on having them up by the end of the weekend. There are a lot of other products, plans etc and we'll outline that as we go on the site. The focus right now is to stick to what we do well and not get overextended. We need to complete the "who we are" sections and the rest of the company related info as well. wdw - the heavy belt is 1.5" wide and cut from 13-15oz Hermann Oak saddle skirt leather (same as we've always used for heavy stuff in this thread). If you measure it out the thickness corresponds to the heavy side of that range. The site has a typo and shows the wrong weight. Thanks for bringing that to my attention. benjaminpersitz - we do have near term plans for messenger bags. There is actually a bit of work going on in this area currently. I don't want to guess at a launch date here though. nater - THANKS! Got it and underway! noirkw - Burgundy is listed as an option now on some of the belts. The product line will expand as we get everything locked in. Sorry for not responding to your PM before today. OK guys, thank you and feel free to hit us up on the site, place orders, point out bugs etc. We are up and running, taking orders and working away. However, there are always beta bugs lol. I appreciate any notes on stuff you see that's out of sorts. www. marshdowngoods. com Any guess at a price point?

Not yet. I can say that we'll have at least two options, one simple and one with a few more features so there will be two price points to work from.
Our goal with the bag is to maintain the same build quality and techniques but add/subtract features rather than altering the construction method.
Sorry if this seems like a non answer but I don't want to guess at a price point and then come in high/low to the point folks are concerned.

I understand. I'm in the market for a bag. I like the price point of the Bros leather bags, but I'm sure yours will be more (as I'm sure your craftsmanship is better).
Will Leather charges like $400 for their messengers and I haven't been impressed with the quality for that price point. I need something that strikes the right balance of quality and price point. A $650 bag is too rich for me.

A little late but i want to add to my review about the "custom" colored burgundy belt.
My gf likes the color alot. And this is a much more heavy kudos then you might first think bc she has only said a handful of positive things through the years on all my clothes. Last good comment was the Five year old Aero jacket and even that was not as precise but more like "thats you best jacket" wich could mean all others suck Ass. She also likes the buckle and i agree the belt pairs well with many things even better then my natural dirty one.
So once again - sweet belt and Nice extreme color!

Thanks! My GF is very direct about expressing her opinion as well so I'll take this compliment with a smile. bennyrum, thanks man. It was a real push to get the site up. Still proofreading as all the snarky things I've said about sloppy websites echo in my head. We've discovered some embarrassing detail typos lol. Being up and running is a good feeling though.

stevekas, the website seems to come and go, not always appearing on google. I'm looking for a heavy belt and a coloured cardholder, and am hoping you might be able to do a four-slot one. Is that possible, and when will the site settle down 100%?

wdw thank you for the heads up. The site always shows up for us but that is likely because it's backed up in our cache. We are also still optimizing our search engine criteria. I'll investigate and get things squared away. As for cardholders, at this time both models are three slot (and are going up tonight), however making a four slot is no problem. Can you post up or PM me an example of something you like? As for the heavy belt, we have a few options up now but there will be more on the site shortly (and we have the leather in stock). We'e got 13-15 oz saddle skirt, 11 oz saddle skirt and 11 oz veg tan, in descending order of stiffness and "toughness". I'll lead product introductions based on what you guys want vs trying to guess whenever possible so let me know.

Hey all...another update. Cardholders will be delayed about 1 week. I've made a good number of them, have some great colors sorted out and overall they're good. I want them to be a little more polished though. Great rather than good. Some of the contenders.....

I just got my belt from Marshdown and it's awesome! Nice work @stevekas ! I'll post pics below. I went with the Tradesman in dark bridle tan (I kind of wish I would have gone with a burgundy as that would have paired better with my brown dress shoes but oh well). I love the presentation - sent in a cigar box and wrapped in burlap. The buckle is a real beast and looks great with my denim. Question for everyone: how do you care for your belts? Do you use Obenaufs, mink oil, or some other kind of conditioner/preservative? Will some kind of conditioner/preservative darken the belt at all?

Will some kind of conditioner/preservative darken the belt at all?... I use a clear cream leather conditioner. And yes, all conditioners will darken a tan or brown belt, but won't affect a black belt.

I use a clear cream leather conditioner. And yes, all conditioners will darken a tan or brown belt, but won't affect a black belt. What brand of conditioner do you use? It's just a house brand from a local leather shop. It looks and feels like thin suntan lotion or hair conditioner. That kind of thing. Not like a wax. I used to use all kinds of things like mink oil, tinted meltonian polish, etc. But lately I just want the original dye, natural age, and sunlight to color them. I occasionally soften the leather a bit so it doesn't dry out and leave it at that.
