Thanx I have been following this guy since the Iron HEart forum a few years back. He started showing some shirts he was making & shortly after he had a store. The denim shirt he made was pretty cool when it was available but it was gone shortly after intro

The Kickstarter has gone live today. Some very nice stuff there, especially appealing to the vintage niche, and I would say pretty reasonably priced:

it does look nice (though I wouldn't really touch any of it but the Chinos), but I gotta say, taking into account exchange rates, when we're talking $95-100 aprons, I know I've already folded on that hand.

I'm fairly sure there isn't much call for an apron in my life, but they do seem to be a popular product among denim makers. For once, though, being in the UK benefits me - no need to worry about the exchange rate! I've actually ditched my Herringbone Gustin order with a view to going in on the Yard Boss jeans, as they're something a bit different from current collection.

It is almost the opposite of Gustin and it is definitely not my style.

I guess how I'm judging it is that I would never buy something that looks like that for the price he's asking (when we get into the jeans and jacket), and my main point was that I just can't really afford it. So I'm looking at it with my negative eyes. From a quality perspective, it certainly looks to be running at the caliber of the price he's asking (well beyond, actually), but it's just not stuff that's appealing to me personally. For someone into this stuff, it's probably a steal, cause this is the sort of style that RRL sews up and then asks $400 or more for. I bet DirtyDenim is gonna love those 30s chinos, for example, but I see them as "well I guess I could sort of get behind it". So yeah, all that said, I apologize for getting all internet troll on your post/update. Thanks for sharing the link, even though it's not my bag.

I think I was likely going off the cinch strap on some of the chinos you'd shared pictures of. Either way, sounds like untucked is probably right, as a group we're all pretty close to the same idea as far as the aesthetic we identify with. You're not gonna catch me in that Thor costume, though.

SN: I would love some LD cinch-back, duck canvas chinos.

I think there's a cross-over in Gustin in terms of people who buy it. I own five pairs of Gustin, but I also like the vintage scene and the higher rise on SJC is better-suited for shorter half-belt jackets that are popular in it. Personally, I'm just delighted when we get another good quality maker on the scene, the more choice the better.

Just wanted to give this thread a bump and update. Simon has been hard at work, and he has his own forum where members discuss all the clothing items before they get made.... Anyway, if you are into bandanas he has 2 made of super heavy silk (luxurious baby) more here: www.simonjamescathcart.com/bandana/

I'm probably going to order one of those engineer boots.. They're insanely cheap. EDIT: As in price, not as in cheap looking.

i want the tan engineer boots..its probably going to happen just trying to find out how long the prices are good for..
I have a pair of black White's Nomad..which I don't like as much as my Lone Wolf Black/Brown and my incoming Lone Wolf suede/roughout..
Simon promises these are wide, and at 1/3 the price of what I was looking at in Lofgren's. The only others I was considering was HTC because those too are wider/can be made in an EE for me..Plus Zip's leather is amazing. Those are still on the 'want' list

Those are still on the 'want' list from the product description, I assume it means until the kickstarter launches: Grab them now @ an early-bird discount prior to going up on Kickstarter next week. And when they do go up on Kickstarter a shout out is the only thanks we ask in return.

Simon told me the price will be as such for a week.
Maybe he will be doing a kickstarter for multiple projects.. the grizzly jacket was up last week and not on kickstarter yet

Maybe he will be doing a kickstarter for multiple projects.. the grizzly jacket was up last week and not on kickstarter yet ~$300 is an absolute steal for English made cordovan boots (or even the other ones, for that matter), if you're into the style. It seems to me he's making abit of a departure from his previous style, I'm interested to see what else he releases -- although I worry he's moved into art-deco suit styling, which is even more costumey than his other stuff.
