Here's one I found via IG:
"I'd rather be an honest asshole than a f!@king liar"
I guess this sums me up most of the time. I dislike it when people lie, especially if it's somehow meant to protect themselves or spare my feelings. As a parent it's important for me to teach my son the value of being truthful, not only because it's moral but also because I think it helps define your principles. Of course, this is going to be the case with most people but then there are those that choose to be dishonest all the time.
There are other more profound quotes I like but the one above made me chuckle.

"Never miss a good chance to shut up" Roy Rogers
"Some things are better left unsaid" I'll attribute it to my father because that's where I heard it.

Haha, which would be the opposite of the quote I posted. I agree that sometimes saying nothing is better than opening your mouth. But I often think of my bad experiences with my ex, with whom I had to walk on eggshells.

Not the opposite but applicable. The truth is often painful and one needs to know when to speak it and when not.

i've always liked this one from Kurt Vonnegut: "We are what we pretend to be, so we must be careful about what we pretend to be."

"This species has amused itself to death" - Roger Waters
Not a quote but a line from the amused to death album, even tho how its used in the text is a little sci-fi and...... placed...I started using this as a signature on a dvd forum around when the dvd came and it seems to be more and more true every year.

Great quote; it reminds me of this one: "The People have abdicated our duties; for the People who once upon a time handed out military command, high civil office, legions — everything, now restrains itself and anxiously hopes for just two things: bread and circuses" -- Juvenal (Satire X)
