jockohomo I should add that it was said that the KS shirt would be delivered in November. Still have a few weeks (and a few more to cut LD some slack). But as I said it would be cool to see some pics of the production of these (when they have a few moments with nothing better to do

Guys here is a little of what we are working on for shipping history. Think UPS or Fed Ex tracking. That is what we are working on now. As your garment goes through manufacturing it has a bar code. Once your item is scanned it will send out email alerts at key points so you can track the progress of your garment right up to shipping at which time you will receive a tracking number in your email. This is the most effect way to track your garment and keep you up to date. I don't know anyone else offering this service but I'm committed to dialing this in so that you know whats going.

roman as a customer i don't feel that i 'need' that much info, but i'm glad to hear that you're taking steps in that direction. utilizing a system like that could be quite beneficial to your overall production management operation. you'd not only be able to easily find the status of any item, but also run detailed metrics on the entire workflow. if each item is scanned at every 'touchpoint' it's much less likely that things go slipping through cracks.

What i meant by that is how people have apprehension when having to pay $400 for a pair of jeans. I know Self Edge well and would never doubt they would send an item.
We know people have their doubts because it definitely just seems to good to be true when you compare our price to some of the other brands out there. People ask " How can they claim to make a great garment when they are charging so little"? I can guarantee that what we send our customers is in fact worth what it is worth. We do not believe our items are worth more than any other company but just want you to understand a pair of jeans of great quality can be made for the price we charge. Other brands may value their work at higher levels than Lawless but we think we can give you a garment that is definitely valued at the prices you see posted. Value is up to the individual buying the item NOT the brand selling it. That's our belief

As much as it helps you the customer, it helps us keep track even more. This system will tighten up everything in the shop but also benefit you if you need to know where you are in the process. I think this can be fun so you can see how things work with us.

David your right. It will help us track ever step of the process and we have less issue in the long run. I just thought it would be good for the consumer to know where their garment is. I'm getting about 30-40 inquiries a day ask how's it going? Where is are my jeans now? It take time away answering these question that keep me from focusing on designs and production.

roman absolutely. fedex scans packages each time they're handled and their system has reduced customer inquiries as well as overall lost packages. their misplaced package rate is phenomenally low, especially compared to someone like united air who loses a much higher percentage of parcels, but only scans at certain intervals. not that you're in the business of shipping goods, but good tracking can only help the production management aspect of your business (and the customers' antsy-pants)

We considered using RF tags to automate product status updates in the past. As cool as it was, we stuck with Barcode.. it was simple and straightforward.

I thought about bar coding one of my ex girlfriends but it would have made me feel worse when I found her entering hotels every night so I stuck with the occasional stalking

Denim lined western with pockets (Not completely finished) but coming Man I need this western shirt, but in 24oz Maroon/grey Pendleton wool with full satin or cotton sateen (or plain color wool/satin or cotton sateen) liner, lined neck/cuffs and white marble snaps. I doubt I would ever take it off. Great job guys, this one is very exciting! Edit: Oh, and corduroy pocket lining. Totally with you. Some soft fabric like wool or flannel will be dreamy.

I moved to south Florida from DC a while back (and quickly returned) and 65-70 degree nights had the locals wearing their coats. Guess that'll be you in no time.

I really like the look of the San Juan Blue Pendleton but, at 5oz, is it too light for a work shirt?
