Check out Vibergs IG.
The just announced side zips and the Jodhpur's are fantastic. Especially the latter.
I thought I did not like Jodhpur's till I saw these.

Side zips look WAY better to me; the straps on the jodhpur look femi I think grown men shouldn't have zippers or velcro on their footwear...but that is just me. In regards to this monstrosity, the one thing I always have to remind myself is that my jeans will cover most of the boot. Even when I had my tony llama buckaroos, they disappointed me because the bright turquoise was rarely seen. Then I grew to like that. Little glimpses of bright color peaking out every now and then...it would be a little more visible at times when I was on the motorcycles. So...as odd as this looks to me, if it is functionally sound, it is OK because nobody would see that weird part...like how nobody sees your pantyhose that we wear under our jeans every other friday. i.pinimg.com/474x/91/c3/96/91c39681b8f672a8af96f8cb9e5ee451--buckaroo-boots-cowboy-boots.jpg

ALso, it's the only Jodhpur I've ever seen that I like. I can get into this version much easier than Chelseas. I really like the side zips too, but I'm too old for them. IMO it's like a 20 something Rock and Roll boot. As to zippers not being on boots, I really like the lace zip combo. Epaulet makes some like that that are pretty nice. I've had one pair of zip/lace boots before and it's pretty nice when you get the laces set to just zip your foot in and be done.

I've seen side zip boots in person, on regular dudes, that just looked like a toned down cowboy boots--though these zipers seem less hidden than I remember. I grew up somewhat wearing cowboy boots and reminisce on sporting them again and feel the half boot is my ticket to ride without going full on buckaroo.

Part of the fun of being a man is doing stupid, uncomfortable stuff. My Red Wings are a five minute process to put on. Fully gussetted tongues suck. But I'm a man and a zipper doesn't belong on my shoes any more than velcro. I admit that some of this is probably biased from living in TX, where impossibly dumb boots are the norm. If I still lived in California, I might be more receptive to Robin Hood's lost boots.

If you can't be bothered to lace them up, maybe go for shoes instead.

I moved past my desire for moc toe boots. Growing up only carpenters and drywallers wore them and my kin were neither of those.....

I also think functional art is my favorite art. If your comfortable shoes/boots can also be pretty, that is even better! However, moc toes are hideous to me. There is something unrefined about them. Maybe I am missing out on a world of comfort, though. Also, that thread tends to share my dislike for chukkas! Reddit is a bit too intense and claustrophobic for me, so I don't venture there that often...which I why I prefer something smaller like this forum (but this pond does continue to dry up). It seems that everyone here loves the chukkas and I was starting to think there was something wrong with me...but now I know, I am not special. There are others out there! Hooray!

I will not wear: Chukkas Chelseas Moc Toe Boots Hiking Boots (though those FEIT wool lined hikers are fun) As the days go by I get closer to disliking brouge'd boots as I am leaning towards they belong on shoes which is warming me up to LWB. Speaking of LWB, this Buday shell SWB has been haunting me: www.styleforum.net/content/type/61/id/1949559/

But I've been converted to now thinking that a Chukka may be the boot to rule them all! I bought my Boys each a pair of Alden Kudu Chukkas. And since then myself a pair of Clarks desert Boots. I'm finding them to be the most versatile boot we own. They are very easy to put on (especially compared to my RD Beckmans), comfortable, dress up or down and not many guys wear them.

I wear boots that have zippers and velcros as its easier for my line of work nowadays. If your walking and standing 16-18 hours a day like I do, it only makes sense. I would buy Danner Accadias if they weighed less though.
I tried on some chelsea's finally at the local nordstrom rack but it didn't look right on me. Could be that it is a little to narrow/dressy for the rugged look I usually wear.
I like the bulky rugged clownshoe look posted on the previous page but with jeans that are not skinny and have a wider opening to go with that style.
I have moc toe low shoes with a thick rubber sole and I enjoy the weird look.

Clarks' chukka were my first foray into anything other than regular ole shit kickers. Alden chukkas after a few years reoriented myself to the versatility of the chukka. Wear and love em both. I will say my engineer boots have been interesting as far as fit. They can be a major pain in the ass/endeavor.
Edit: I find moc toes horrid as well besides maybe the Alden Indy. Don't get it. Those little Clarks' moc toe on women remind of Dancing with Wolves for some reason...just too faux idk.
