I am really liking them. Fit wise they shrunk to nearly perfect size after two initial soaks and I like the extra rise these offered. They are starting to show some real electric blue in the hard wear spots and i suspect the next soak/wash will really show their character. Definitely a fan.

Brian does it again (These aren't mine), this time in green Horween shell with red stitching Not my cup of tea, but still GORGEOUS Those are nice, though I would prefer the Olive Steerhide version myself. I went over there to look and see how much they were, I was guessing 2k for the shell. No prices listed. If you have to ask.....then you can't afford it. LOL.

Did they look like this new? It looks like they were distressed in some way. Toe bent up etc. Doesn't look bad though. Cool pattern.

Would you guys consider this "loose grain" or just a result of "old boots"? This is my pair of 2 year old Chippewa service boots. They've been through everything from mud, water and snow, to wet concrete. I cleaned them up this weekend which always makes the creasing more pronounced. The right boot is less severe which makes me wonder if this was a result of loose grain. Honestly, I don't mind and it doesn't change my opinion of the boot. They've been all over and have held up great. Those look killer man! Great pics. Personally, I love all the creases, marks, etc., as they just add character. Hence the phrase, "Tough As Old Boots."

I have yet to spend more than $450 for a pair of boots but I was tweaking over those production models. IMO it's a great look that Viberg should do more of.

Thanks man! $385 was too good to pass up, and the stitchdown construction makes this unique, but I think I'd prefer the blind eyelets just to add even more differentiation from my kudu service boots. Def digging the pinking and the back strap esp.

12 C I can wear D if they are not super wide. So I think they had a size 11.5 D for sale at their sample sale. Two weeks old, I know but might be worth an email. At that time $285 was the tag. Could be way wrong on any or all of this and don't know what relegated them to sample status but Jason and Will are top notch dudes and it might be a win win for all involved. I of course have no ponies in this race, besides my own pair of size 8 D I'm selling (bought from Wesco's 2nd dept and just aren't my style) and the reason for my initial question to you. Cheers!

disheveled denim and boots look awesome! that rough-out leather is sooo fleshy, it's unreal. no comparison to my RW Thanks man; really like these Wescos--a nice departure from all my Vibergs and Tricker's--true shit kickers, that make you feel like putting your foot through walls, haha! To quote their copy, "Top quality full grain leathers...The integrity of materials used throughout our boot building process is above reproach..." I remember hearing they use the hide, not in the most economical way, but choose specific parts of the skin for specific parts of the boot, with full focus on creating the best boot possible, vs cheaper/higher profits. Guessing that's what we're noticing, cause yeah its gorgeous leather and feels indestructible. This robustness does equate to a longer breakin process. Highly recommend them and they also sell 2nds from their website for much cheaper.

Rugged boot for sure. Have trouble getting behind bump toes, or just bulbous toes in general. Completley collapsed unstructured dont work for me either. Vibergs partially structured is my jam.

Here's a comparsion shot of my two dainite soled service boots--crappy lighting on the kudu shoot... I received a detailed reply which I will try to find and PM you, but it was wild, yet very nice of DR. I'm currently awaiting Whites availability on those Oxfords. I had been pursuing a White's build with leather they don't carry and it was only after sourcing the leather that I found out that Whit's charges the same for boots even if you give them the leather.

Interesting! My curiosity is certainly piqued!
Crazy they'd charge the same, guess it shows how much the materials adds to total cost--not much.

Interesting! My curiosity is certainly piqued! Crazy they'd charge the same, guess it shows how much the materials adds to total cost--not much. The concept from White's end is that if they charge less with custom leather then they get inundated with requests and have to co-ordinate the leather with the build and the customer so that additional time is sunk costs that they charge for (full price with or without supplied leather) to defray their expenses. Those oxfords are supposed to be a base of $450 but as pictured they have a cream liner and double midsole. Since it's a roughout, I could skip the cream liner. I thought it may be fun to have a double midsole but the more I think about it, I'm leaning towards a single as they will blend in a little more as the black roughout already sublty grabs attention. I do want silver eyelets though.
