I thought we had a thread for this but I can't seem to find it. I've gone a year without a haircut and now have a longish shag thing going that I'd like to get cut into some type of actual style that doesn't require me to move to east Austin with the rest of the hipsters. The hair is wavy brown and I have no balding tendencies so the world is my oyster. Hit me with suggestions.

Shave it, polish and get a tattoo of a chick with big cans. Done.
Change of plans, get Rick Perry with glasses up there.

#2 guard, rounded in the back. Oh, and you still have all your hair? Go f*ck yourself.

I've done plenty of #2 guard in my day, but I'm finding the long hair to be good for business. People seem to remember and like it.

I can't let my hair grow long enough to hit my ears. It annoys the hell out of me and I end up with a #2 or #1 on my clippers soon after.

Ha, I only look like I'm headed to a dispensary. I just took a drug test (for adoption paperwork) and the doctor doing the physical said, "you know this screening will find marijuana, right?"

Your hair sounds similar to mine usctroll. I've grown mine out to mid back length a couple times and shaved it all off on a bet both times. First time I was 22 and my dad half jokingly said he'd give me $1,000 if I went skin bald. I called his bluff and made him pay up so all the beer that semester of college was sponsored by him. Currently I'm rocking a 2 on the sides, tapered back, and 1-2 inches up top depending on how warm it is outside. A dime size bit of suavecito finger combed through gives it a little hold and keeps things professional now that I'm supposedly an adult. I'd also recommend a barber over a stylist and pop into see him once a month. Something about a men's barbershop with male barbers and coarse language just feels right when juxtaposed against a salon with Cosmo magazines. Typically cheaper too so you can afford a bigger tip and get proper attention to detail every visit.

hmm after growing out my hair for 3 years, I finally got a haircut last year and still have to donate the hair sitting in a ziplock to locks of love haha. But I just browsed the interwebz and the looked at magazines at the salon I was at. At that time I ended up with a Russell Crowe look but for an asian dude with a nice beard going on.
I used to do the high and tight or a 3 with a taper. All my other hair styles in between are questionable cause I was in college. Hopefully you find a look you like.

A Good Barber that knows how to use a Strait edge razor is the way to go. usually it's the barbershop where all the Latino Dudes go.
