2015 I tracked my spending on clothing for myself. Two items I haven't received yet since they were workshop Taylor Stitch items. Most expensive item taylor stitch moto leather jacket and I haven't received it yet so that could be a deduction. My cheapest purchase were some cheapo wayfarer sunglasses off eBay $1.44 each. This was also chronological. I noticed a few things I haven't worn yet which is disappointing. This isn't a brag list by any means but a ledger and a way I keep spending under control. I spent more on clothing than I did on my Miata and pickup truck. And half what I spent on my Chevelle.
2015 clothing spending totals:
homespun knit goods $13 alpha industries parka $65 Two hats felt/straw 36$ Ciano farmer $187 PF Flyers $22 TS mechanic moss - $73 Gap no iron dress shirt -$9 Jcrew factory purple gingham - 25 Rag and bone pants 20 Jcrew factory tattersallx2 - 40 Samurai 710xx -230 Polo jacket -60$ Iron heart 666 - 254 Taylor stitch chambray -80 Chippewa original boots - $180 Free duffle Gustin black2's - $30 Tie bar - $60
Ihsh-33 - 35$ IH-816 duck chinos - $85 Birkenstock 84 Minnetonka $29 Highland TS shirt - 80
5/9 - sperry $53 5/8 sunglasses $2.88 5/9 allen edmond belt $10 5/26 aiden nantucket red $22 5/20 jcrew navy blazer $149 6/10 polo watermelon $39.99 6/20 Hawaiian shirt - $14 7/4 polo linen shirt - 21 7/9 633 iron heart - $190 7/18 Gustin OCBD 23$ 7/20 -120 iron heart 21 8/3 $120 iron 07 8/11 grifter gloves $68 $833 Year to date 8/11 = $2530
9/14 Taylor stitch leather - $706 9/20 iron heart chinos - $122 9/24 iron heart 127 - $175 9/30 schott perfecto $288
10/29 Taylor stitch maritime $73
December: 12/1 - chup $20 12/16 - iron heart vest $350 12/29 - jcrew cable knit $48
$4311.88 total 2015
Oh and I'm trying not to buy anything in 2016. We shall see how that goes!

Looks like you did some good bargain-hunting last year, good luck on your goal for this year, you seem to have plenty of stuff to hold you if you really want it.

That's serious financial tracking! Great pick-ups. Seems like your plan for 2016 is the same that I had in mind: "Make what I own mine". In other words, wear what I own and break it all in... Make them an extension of me, rather than just being things that I wear

Make them an extension of me, rather than just being things that I wear That is exactly how I was thinking about it. I wanted to track what I spent and honesty it helped deter me from buying somethings. I would know I had to add it to the list and sometimes I really put things back and didn't buy them. This didn't count returned items that I bought and returned like my Maritime CPO that $73 was for the whaler. Gustin hooked me up with a free duffle and I used a good amount of credit I cover aspects of Gustin buys. Also I bought a ton on eBay and some from other forum members like IH-816 and 33 from Sal. My New Years resolution 2015 was to track spending, quit dipping and no new watches. Not buying a new watch really kept spending in check. 2016 should be interesting.

I haven't done this to the extent and detail of your design, I mainly focused on monitoring my spend as it pertains to selvedge and some of the other higher-end items like quality chinos, etc. Thankfully, my spend was not near $4k (maybe $2000-2500?). But I am of the mindset of you and Untucked above about focusing this year on making what I bought my own. Some of my 2014 purchases are showing that character and I'm excited for what is coming with some of my new denim. Not only that, there's only a few things that I actually want (clothing related), I've got other things to spend my money on in 2016 (another mountain bike, maybe a jeep, but definitely a new house...and concerts). All good reasons to add some wear to what I already have.

One of my new year resolutions is to seriously curb my spending; maybe to around the 8-10 item mark. I just don't need to spend as much as I do on clothes. Having said that, my favourite (brst bang for buck) pickups were: Oak Street Bootmakers Camp Boots - $125 Yuketen Maine Guides - $150 Red Wing Round Toes - $90 Lawless 18oz denim- $50 (I think? Bought them from someone on here. Fantastic value.) Kapital Cisco - $60 There's also a few things I'd rather have not bought; namely that Apolis chore coat (useless until Spring). This year I plan on buying less but at a higher standard. A pair of jeans, a deck jacket (don't know why I didn't choose to get one earlier); I want to stop impulse buying. Anyway, 2 more months of that 90-day no spend to go on. Roll on the new year!

I honestly don't know what I've spent on clothes in 2015. My goal for 2016 is to try and be more selective about my purchases, especially with regard to quality and cost. I've always been a bargain hunter and still look for deals, but I'm also trying not to buy inexpensive things because they're inexpensive (like Gustin products). I have to really justify my needs/wants and decide if spending more or less for something is worth it. The only purchases I've made recently where I paid full price is my PBJ jacket and Studio D'artisan flannel shirt, but those were bought via Denimio and Okayama Denim and are much cheaper than Western dealers.

Not going to track my 2015 spending because it'll take a few days, and amount to not as much as it'll look because of all the returns.
2016 goals: Downsize my dress shoes/boots from 15ish to ~5 pairs of dress shoes/boots, and wear the crap out of them. I've already sold 2 so far.
After downsizing my boots from 8 to my Alden pair and Alfred Sargent pair, buy 2 pairs of Aldens/Vibergs.
Don't spend any more money on denim, unless IHs/Momos drop to a can't pass up price. Wear the crap out of what I own.
Sell everything or donate everything I don't wear.
Buy 5 or so, but no more than 10, everyday high quality shirts I can wear between fall and spring, to replace all the G shirts that no longer fit me.

I'm too scared to calculate 2015 spending on clothing as I know its going to be ridiculous for me. Less on clothing but the number of sneakers I bought in 2nd half of the year was crazy. But I think 2016 I will keep track as I bought more quality clothing in the last couple of months and I am appreciating the better materials.
2016 goals - further downsize sneaker collection from 60+ pairs to 15-20? - sell 2-3 more boots to make room for my Trumans that are coming in the next months - add some colors to my closet. I like dark colors a lot and blue is main color in the closet for me. - save money for a ring which is most likely my next biggest expense

It's a serious addiction.... 2013 I bought 48 pairs. I realized THEN that I had to stop it with the sneakers, and I did... But, the addiction rolled from shoes to higher end clothing lol... Now here we are on this thread, having a huge pity party with each other, lol!

When you track your spending things really come into perspective. Like looking at an expensive house and not a lot down. When you see that 200k house will cost 500k over a 30yr with 3.5% money down.
Or that car payment.

one of my other goals is to try and wear what I buy. when I buy new denim I have to send them off to get hemmed, so they usually wind up in my closet for the short term while i'm breaking in my other pairs. I don't rotate my jeans as often as I'd like and i've already got a dozen pairs being neglected.

I've purposefully scaled back from 17 to 14 (woo hoo), but these fade contests make it tricky to get some wear on others. I probably have 5-6 pairs that I will wear for the foreseeable future.

I think all of us have enough denim to last us years but when that highly coveted pair of jeans pops up you have to have. It's an endless cycle thanks to our addiction

I don't know how some of you guys get any wear on your jeans with so many pairs. I sold off a bunch this year and still feel I have too many pairs of straight indigo (3), and am down to one dark IxI and one pair of grey. I'd still like a pair of black to add to the mix and will have to decide if I want to pick up a pair of the oni vs samurai contest pair. At least those won't show up until April.
