the damn thighs are too small anyways, would have to size up almost two sizes for that. Will somebody else besides IH please make jeans for people that somewhat have legs? Edit: just remembered that SE does measure their thighs an inch below the crotch so sizing up one might work but still too close for comfort maybe. Samurai? But beware the relatively short inseam on earlier models. What's the inseam at on the early models?

Samurai? But beware the relatively short inseam on earlier models. What's the inseam at on the early models? Maybe I had the wrong brand, as it looks like most Sammy are 37.8" pre soak. There's one of the big Japanese brands that just recently changed from 35", which tends to end up sub 33" post soak.

I think Oni might have a cut for me actually. I loved my 517xxBE before I squatted and deadlifted my way out of them and I am refusing to put them up for sale. One day I'll let them go I'm sure.
Oni kind of confuses me though as it seems like they change the numbers on their cuts every week.
Strike Golds...no chance like bentin said.

It's hard for me to make either fit work.

I think Oni has me covered with the 288ZR fit. Anybody have that? Looks like I can only find it in 20oz secret denim though.

You need a decoder ring for Oni since they seem to call the same fit something different for a lot of the denims. They're getting a little better about it, but even the 612 is different across denim weights.

Also, some Oni, The Stike Gold, and Sugar Cane cuts TSG would crush his thighs. Or rather his thighs would explode out of that cotton stitching. How so? Several cuts are around 12.5" at 1" down (sz33 for reference). Those are around (and above) the charts on several IH cuts. Unsanf of course...so after water you're looking more around 12-12.25...maybe not generous enough for Icke's powerhouse thighs...but definitely more generous than many others.

Pretty frustrating to nail down sizing...but they are one of the brands which has cuts with larger thighs measurements...though usually paired with silly low front rise numbers.

Yeah that's too tight, 12.5" pre soak. Even measured an inch below crotch. No chance. I'm not sure which IH cuts you're looking at but my 634's are all 13" plus on a tag size 34 except for my 633 overdyes which are just under 13" and pushing my limits.

Another factor with me is I prefer my fit a bit looser than most around here I would say. Especially in the thigh.

I was just going off of the SE charts, which show most (all of those I looked at anyway) the 634 thigh measurements under 13, and the size 33 i was using to compare with at or under the TSG pairs: 634S-SEXIH13=12.5" 634-UHR=12.2" 634s=12"

The 634 UHR on the IHUK fit guide shows the thigh at 13.1" for example. I know SE measures an inch down but I don't think an inch down makes that big of a difference in the thigh measurement.

ickes - going back to my tanuki comment (all while trying to not derail this thread) its all hard - I like my thighs a bit larger, but as the fabric lightens up, feels like I can get away with more taper/tighter. Posted some fit pics in tanuki vs the IH-633II which is easily my favorite pair of denim. I always think the top block is way too tight (maybe it is?) but I think so much of that is dependent on that fabric being a beast. With that said, with all the denim i've bought/sold over the past few years, recall 1x my wife said "woah those look good on you" and they're a snugger cut the the IH. Sugar Cane/SE summer weight denim - recommend that one too.

Since SE had the all of the items in the discussion (sans Oni), figured it was the best apples to apples reference to use...and in that case the measurements are similar/same. i'm also typically on the look out for jeans with specific sizing needs...jungle booty and larger calves for my size.

When someone figures out the thigh game let me know. I need at least 12.5-13" an inch down. Size 33 or 34 waist. My problem is anything more than an 8" cuff is not good for me, so cuts like the 634 etc are out

My size 34 waist pair has a 13" thigh 1" down and a 7.75" cuff. Lovely denim as well.

Also the new IH cut that's coming soon will have decent sized thighs with a tapered cuff.

Anybody end up picking up the caustic waves? And ickes' 633 comments are spot on - its a pretty solid cut for those who want some taper with bigger top.

Agreed. The 633 fit is good for the big thighed set looking for some taper. I'd grab a pair of the pending 14oz OD if I could get them without a bogus 20% markup.

But soccer has made my legs bigger and bigger, so I may need to bite the bullet.
