There are a few brands I have tried over the years:
Workware Heritage makes a great product, especially for the price. Made in Hong Kong, I think. I used to own their 1947 cut, then grew out of it (and I think I tossed it.. but I'd fit into it now..). Paid ~ $135 shipped.
Bob Dong - Just bought a pair of 19oz jeans. Total cost was $160 or so. Need to go through a proxy, quite easy however. Other cuts are much cheaper, sub $100 even with shipping.
Sauce Zhan - Never tried, but have been interested in. Maybe next time I feel like a jean.
There are a few others I have seen here and there, but these are the big hitters. Workware is really easy to order from:workwarehk.com/shop/
The others require some Google translate / taobao / taobaofocus wizardry.

Doesn't bugula have some sauce zhan in that closet of his? edit: here's the thread with some pictures and stuff, if you want to do some research. selvedgestyle.com/thread/330/sauce-zhanedit 2: Workware Heritage seems to be reproducing a lot of the same stuff as Buzz Rickson at what, about two-thirds the price?.

I have been very happy with Workware Heritage. Yes, same as Buzz and many other companies. Buzz is not the only company reproducing military items.
I cannot speak to the quality of those garments or how they compare to Buzz, but I am very happy with the sweatshirt I have, the jeans I had. Looking forward to the same sweatshirt in white and the trucker jacket.

I am curious if anyone has experience with both and can compare, though.

One reason I'm on this forum is to avoid Chinese clothing.

have a lot of sauce zhan and have a pair of bai-he too. the bai-he are nicely made jeans. they're a take on the xx-010 and are a bit more understated.

My Suace Zhan belt arrived yesterday. Even came with a hole punch for more holes if needed. world.taobao.com/item/21747464106.htm?fromSite=mainTotal was $66.xx. It was $40 to the proxy and $26 to ship. For whatever reason, EMS from China is quite expensive. The belt is still a good deal but would have been a lot better if I lived in China (but then I would live in China)

It's nice but i prefer my tanner goods one. I thought Bronson was made by bob dong or something. I just got back from China and hong Kong was so tempted to buy the r424sp but mybwife told me to f off. I however did get a Bob dong Thomas the train t shirt, my kids love it!

No idea who makes Bronson - I've been trying to find the 'official' site because there are some interesting products.
I found the Sauce Zhan belt to be really long, so I might cut it. (too big of a tail)

I can personally recommend this source for Bronson/Bob Dong goods, it's a seller on aliexpress.com, which is a chinese marketplace, there's no need for a proxy, and lots of sellers don't charge shipping.(make sure you check their feedback, ala ebay) www.aliexpress.com/store/1229407?spm=2114.10010108.100005.14.CHbixeAl who runs this shop is pretty cool, and they ship DHL to US free of charge, I got my package (ordered one the bronson wabash shirts) in like a week. Never tried the pants, but the shirt is great. Not discharged dyed, but still very nice. Chinese XL is like a US medium though.

I need to see what this compares to going through a proxy, it actually may be the same as going through TaoBaoFocus

I have wanted a pair of military style pants for awhile so these fit the bill. On the way to me now. I'll report back when I get them.

I have wanted a pair of military style pants for awhile so these fit the bill. On the way to me now. I'll report back when I get them. I got these today, ordered on the 6th. Overal I'm happy. The only think that sticks out is the button sewing. I'll be surprised if I don't have to redo them. The cloth is a nice crisp twill. Probably 7 oz. inseam and out seam flat felled, double chain stitch. I erred on the big side and hot washed and dried. They lost 1" waist and inseam (31") 1/2 in on the hem (81/2). So for $48 to my door not bad. Next I'm gonna try a Bob Dong shirt.
