looks great DigDug slightly makes me regret selling mine Didn't like the way it was either. So I figured I'd mess with it. First was the Kakishibu, still didn't look right (I didn't have enough to get it done properly). Next came the Indigo dip. Then I was going to wax it but I liked it after the Indigo dip.

I think they say that to avoid the indigo from all settling at the bottom. But I've never had a problem. Also, when you take it out it inevitable will have some of "bloom" on it (kind of looks like air bubbles). I wiped/brushed them off (with my gloved hand). If you don't, there will be blemish there. So just wipe anything odd looking to even it out.

whiskeyriver looks like you did a great job dying all that clothing! please post more photos as these items progress.
When the weather warms up in the spring I think I will try my hand at dying some things with indigo! I will try dying. A hoodie, A baseball hat, And maybe some small leather items, will all go onto the dye.

So did you rinse the excess dye from your coat after it fully dried? If so, how did you go about that? I am thinking of filling a plastic tub with water and sloshing it in there a bit, changing the water and repeating. I definitely don't wanna throw it in the washing machine.

Did you dip yours a couple of times? I only did one dip. Liked how it looked with the Kakishibu dip earlier.

It's pretty saturated and dye comes off to the touch pretty heartily. I think I'll lightly rinse the excess.

Thinking out loud here . . . wondering what the TS british khaki shirt would look like with an indigo dip. I wonder if it would come out with a green cast?

Hmm. I wonder if the dye would take? The material has an almost waxy like quality. Faint, but seems to be there to me. It feels different. I just wonder how much it would actually take the dye. If it did, it could look very cool. But it could also be a quick, easy way to ruin an $80 shirt haha.

The fabric is a bit waxy unwashed, but is nice and soft after washing. Someone mentioned that they talked to TS and the color is kind of painted on with a roller, which is why the back has a different color. I do think it would look cool--kind of a greeny look like DigDug 's tellason jacket, assuming that the dye would penetrate the roller painted layer. Do I risk $80 on it, though?

Yeah, it was I that talked with Mina and she told me how it was rolled on. Which is a cool unique application of color. Something about that process makes it sort of waxy, I guess. You're right that after wash, it is definitely less waxy. Maybe after a few washes, it could take the dye easier. The contrast between the darker indigo-greencast of the exterior and the very blue indigo of the interior is also something to consider. Could look cool, could look fugly.

Imma contact Mina and find out if i can get a scrap or two of that fabric. Worst they can do is say no (i guess that's not true, though, they could cancel my order a la Elon Musk).

Lemme know what comes of this.

Indigo-dyed Cons. They were $20 at Ross because of a tiny stain.

Request sent. Mina, we're counting on you! I've corresponded with Mina a few times the past couple of weeks regarding a fabric sample. Alas, she sent me an email last night the the product dev team didn't have any of this fabric on hand and thus she couldn't send me a swatch.

bringing this back since I did some indigo dipping last night. It was a mess in the bathtub and i spent more time cleaning it up.
I did a triple dip but wasn't sure how much to rinse before hang drying it lol. So I am pretty sure I removed the two dips I did. Going to do a double dip again in my vat tonight and just do a quick water rinse to remove a little indigo and just let it roll.
Also, had a short sleeve blue oxford from Target and decided to dip it, it only had 1 dip and I rinsed it well to remove as much indigo. I may redip to even it out but I like the look.
Will get pictures when I get home in a bit.
Debating on dipping my cone naturals that I got from Manny last year, but undecided as I may dye it Olive.

only took a picture of the blue oxford since the costco tees I dipped looked disappointing. I ended up redipping all 3 items last night and will check on it today after work.
The costco tees are long so I gotta debate on wearing it or trying to shrink it alot.
