Kind of a dull Sunday. Decided to use some Indigo on a few things. Turn in tomorrow for the results (drying now) Tellason Tan Coverall jacket (got in a grab bag). Was to light for my liking. Soaked it in Kakishabu but still to light. So in the Indigo Vat it went. Another Grab bag item from Left Field. Didn't like the color (to green). In it went. Iron Heart Thermal. If they can do it so can I. And just for kicks, White Gustin and Gray Velva Sheen T's.

What happens when your glove breaks. Maybe you need to cut back on the colloidal silver.

Can't wait to see your results. Also, let us know how much of your dye job ends up on your furniture, etc.

Should I dunk it for a second time? May come out more dark?

Looks cool as is, but if you want it a deeper indigo color, keep going. Railcar says their lighter jeans are only dipped six times.

Going to put this Left Field sweat in for a second dip, try to even out the color.

Probably from the Tan canvas and Kakishabu and indigo making blue/green I had been wondering if the kakishibu would inhibit the absorption of indigo. Was there any noticeable repellency ?

Just a different color then the white and gray items. I'd think if I put it in for a second dip, it would blue up more. But I'm keeping it as is.

Iv been doing this as well but a few pieces turned out shite because there were unknown stains on the tee's and shirts. For instance a tee i did had spots I am assuming were from a likely spot treat. The other thing is pit stains will become extremely prominent after dying. Not a deal breaker but keep a look out for anything you may have done some spot treating on

This is awesome, thanks for sharing!
I have the same indigo dye kit that I plan on using on some natural leather belts as a test, but while I'm at it, I definitely want to experiment with a few lighter colored garments that I just don't wear that much.
Whenever that happens, I'll be sure to share as well.

I wet my stuff first and slide and manipulate it under the indigo, again trying not to allow air into the mixture.

Thanks for the tips man, the kit comes with some pretty measly gloves, noticed that right off the bat. I'll heed your advice!

Hey DigDug, could you post pics of what the final results looked like after all the dips?

Hey DigDug, could you post pics of what the final results looked like after all the dips? Which one? I only did one dip on each, so they didn't come out saturated. More light blue. I love the way the Tellason jacket came out. Very unique color. I wear it a lot. You should do yours. It very easy (best done out side).

I was debating on whether to bleach it and then dye it, or just dye it. Either way, I'm going to multiple dip it I'm sure, and then wax it.

whiskeyriverI'd just dip it. The yellowish color will give it a vintage look. I had dipped mine in a light solution of Kakishibu first.
