A few months back I received a pair of Gustin Denim from a Grab Bag. At the time, I had a pair of Heavy American's that I eventually returned, and I found the grab bag to be exactly the same.
I never wore this pair, and want to sell them; they don't have a tag with a number, so is there any way I can verify they're Heavy American's? I wouldn't want to sell them under a false assumption. Looking through a lot of old items, I guess it's possible they're American Standards, Fourteeners...any other way I could identify them?
Thanks!

If you want assistance, post a close picture of the warp/weft, selvedge id, and leather patch. Otherwise you can try reaching out to gustin to find out if they know, I'm not sure if they track that on grab bags.

Looks like it's got a slightly fuzzy surface. My wild guess is the Blue 17

Do they feel like heavyweights?

The veg tan patch certainly narrows it down. The blue 17 came with a brown patch. Upon further research, it is possible they could be the original Zimbabwe 15oz, from an earlier run. The first couple campaigns came with veg tan patches, and they are a similar weight to the HA's. But, I've never seen the 2 of them side by side. So, I can't speak to similarities. The 23oz, and 26oz beasts came with veg tan patches. You'd definitely recognize the difference between those 2 and the HA's, though.

The selvedge ID isn't much of a help, as it's the most common. I think the blue 17 looks like the closest match, though it also looks fuzzy enough to be the heavy American.

I've never seen one that light before. OP said he nabbed these a few months ago, and there is no telling how long they sat, prior to his purchase. I was thinking it may have aged a bit. Edit: Although, looking at it closer, it is sewn with brown thread. I believe the veg tan are sewn with white thread. You are most likely correct.

They don't do the burn on the veg tan, it's just stamped: It does look an awful lot like the Regular, so you could be right, but I'm pretty certain that's light brown and not veg tan.

I with you there, now. I should've taken a harder look, to begin with. That certainly increases the possibilities.

Thanks for all the help dudes. I did email Gustin, they said it looked like it was probably from Cone but didn't offer anything else.
I don't think it's a veg tan patch, just a lighter brown. Image might have made it look lighter than it is.
I think I'll post them and explain that I'm not positive what they are- maybe someone will still bite!
