In dimmish light, I saw the deep purple/oatmeal. But after a few wears, and wearing it out in the sun and under bright lights, it'd definitely a dark red, almost brick red now. The contrast with the cream, which has lightened up a tad, is really nice. Received quite a few compliments yesterday. I'd wear it out a few times before you @wils it, and jump into turning it into a project.
