I have the first or second release of the black trucker (not waxed, not ventile AFAIK). It's surprisingly tough & stiff for as many wears as it has on it. Not as stiff as some heavyweight deadstock denim that'll stand up on it's own, but absolutely not soft or pliable - which surprises me since it's just normal canvas. I've decided I want to wash & tumble it a time or two, hoping to soften it up a bit. Anyone out there with the same jacket have the same issue with the material, or the opposite experience?

I hotsoaked and tubled my waxed brown for abit and it did not become more pliable but shrunk more then anticipated in armlength so heads up and check often during drying. They both became shorter and also very tight in the wrists. Fits good but yeah...heads up.

I suppose I will also avoid high heat in the dryer cycle as well.

My waxed brown does kind of feel like wearing a jacket made of cardboard. Cool looking, but stiff as hell. If you figure out how to make it less stiff, I'll try it too. Do not want mine to shrink at all though.
