Hi Dave, Yeah we are about the same size in fact. I did get this in L and I swim in it. Even the shoulders are on the wide side which never happens to me, that's usually the decider between L and XL for me. I'm a slim fit in a standard JCrew dress shirt if that helps. It could be a tiny longer in length but the sleeves are perfect. I figured if I ended up getting one, it would be kind of boxy for sure. It will be nice to see your's after you get it tailored. I figure at 22oz., I would mostly use it as an overshirt, or at least with some kind of layer under it.

Guys, I just ordered this wool CPO (85 bucks, shipped) from shop.vtarmynavy.com/fidelity-army-navy-wool-cpo-shirt-p315.aspxThe buttons may or may not be a little goofy, but I'm likely going to swap them out anyway. I'll get it tailored and the buttons swapped out for less than 30 bucks and I'm done. I'll post up when the thing arrives and we'll see what 80 dollars gets you. I thought I'd pop in with an update on this CPO. I've been wearing it a ton this winter. Luckily the M fits me well off the rack and I didn't need to get any alterations done to its otherwise boxy fit. So style wise it works well for me. It's also very warm. The CPO layered under my tartan lined Aero Stockman with a scarf and I have been plenty warm in this awful New England weather.

I ordered a large and it was more like XL/XXL sizing. I know that going in but I needed the sleeve length. Anyway I'll post up pics. It's warming up from the socal 1.5 month winter so I'll likely use this thing a bit more next year
