I've had this hankering for a pair of cords in a jean style, but everything I've looked around at is usually flimsy or crap looking. Anyone have any recommendations?

I may be mistaken, but I believe that is the actual definition of "corduroy pants."

I'll give you flimsy but not always crap looking - I have a pair from jcrew that I like when I'm looking to wear something different from raw denim (which isn't too often)

I may be mistaken, but I believe that is the actual definition of "corduroy pants." By flimsy, I, of course, mean lightweight 18-wale pants that barely belong in the summer, never mind winter or fall. I used to have some real heavyweight cords, but then I lost a crapload of weight (~26lbs) and they don't fit. There are some UK-based MTO heavy cords, but they're all in the chino style that I could see. Besides, who doesn't want to walk down the hall at work going "voopa-voopa-voopa".

Well, I do that anyways. But I say it audibly using my mouth.

IH-6634 Alas, they are down to pixie waist sizes. Ain't no way I'm fitting into a 28 or 29.

yep, unnamed beat me to it but the Iron Hearts are what I was going to recommend too. I posted it a little while back that they are down to small guy sizes in the waist but if that happens to be you they are marked down quite a bit

What kind of OZ are we talking about here being "ok"? Most of the stuff I've found is in the 8oz range. I was hoping for at least 10. The IHs are 14, which would have been awesome.

It always amazes me when people think they can sell secondhand clothes for anything close to MSRP.
