Yes but like a hundred dollars versus like four hundred dollar makes atleast me think that maybe ill get that one from G and then the green from IH. But the most important is that the reason I love it was the soft colors and this is simply not how it looks irl, also a kinda important fact before you sink a months pay (or thereabouts) into a shirt. Im not trying to diss IH they fit me better then anything Else patternwise but also Ickes said the red-black check didnt match the color described, now that one was a positive thing but the point is we kill g when they are off on their colors and their stuff costs half.
And the pics Im refering to is from Bugula, i happened to return to those pics bc i always felt i missed out on something i would have liked and was trying to analyze why and bam it hit me so i did the comparison. I do agree a better cut and snaps makes it another shirt and its probably better aligned too but the pricedifference is hard to swollow.

Also, the IH 129 fabrics are Indigo dyed and 10 ounces...Gustins are not. I love the Monster Twill Blue Sky fabric though

but yeah they are definitely a similar color pattern, that is for sure. So yeah I guess the immediate differences are what I stated earlier, G's is 8 oz and the 129 is 10 oz and also Indigo dyed where G's is not.

But can it really be 2 of the exact same? What if they just convert the oz different and doesnt even know its indigo dyed? I gotta say I think they are the same.

Hell I don't know, ask Giles in the IH forum. That's what I did on the Hombre fabrics. He's said repeatedly that nearly all of their fabrics are made for them.

The funny thing about that is that you linked the wrong shirt twice.

That actually isn't important to me, I don't care if its special or not, what is important is if the color is more toward the G one, then its not at all the feel I thought I was gonna get from the shirt.
It does look like the IH is thicker tho, but I dont think one can see 2oz in a flanell from pics, specially since it the equivalent of 1oz in jeans, no one can see if a jean is 15 or 16 oz from a pic, I think the IH one is better handled, ironed properly and photoed by a pro (no offense to Bugula) lighting and no washes can do alot for a pic.

You are officially awarded a Sherlock award. That was actually some good work detective, I never even would have put two and two together but they definitely look damn near identical in the color pattern.

isn't there an extra band of blue between the white and red stripes on the G? my eyes have gone cross... oh wait...i'm seeing it now on the IH. deceptively complex pattern. wow, i had the stupid shirt and didn't even think they were close to being the same.

Wouldn't the Mill be able to make the same patterned fabric at different weights? Seems we've seen this twice now. The Rogue Territory Blue Flannel and now this one with Gustin. IH just does it heavier and with a better sew shop, better cut, details. For a premium price.

Let's not go kidding ourselves that any IH shirt is actually $335. It's a $150-$170 shirt after JP markup that's been imported to England, taxed, then had VAT added to it and a good markup (or it's just greedy dillholes at SelfEdge) and sold to goofball Americans that think they're getting an expensive shirt because two shops control supply for round eyes.

They are actually expensive, and that is what people are willing to pay for their goods. Whatever the reason, I have to hand it to them for their success. I pursue to purchase through Rakuten, if, and when they offer up XXXLs. The high price point also helps the resale value for the folks that like to flip their stuff after awhile, so there is a benefit for those folks. Kind of like what Harley Davidson does, as they don't discount pricing, like the Japanese bike brands do. I just picked up an IH heavy flannel for $80 bucks off E-bay. The IH flannels fit me better than the similar TS flannels that were just workshopped, and I like the color much better, is a heavier weight, and a decent discount from new. Its nice to have choices, and be thankful that IH isn't the only game in town.

But they're only expensive when you can't buy them on Rakuten. IHUK and SE both sell identical product to JP shops for nearly 2x the price.
Your Harley example would be valid if say, the buyer were in the UK and had the choice to buy from US HD for $20k or UK HD for $40k, for the exact same bike.
Guys saying they know what a $300+ shirt is like because they have an IHUK or SE shirt are funny. You have a $150ish shirt that you paid double tax and a premium for. It's still the retention of VAT that kills me, but SE has no excuse other than greed.
And I know I'm wasting my pixels in this silly little cult area, I guess I just haven't poked the bear recently.
