Yeah it would fall into the impulse buy category. For $180 you can get the 16.75oz Japan Blue type 2 from OD.

it's tempting. I really want the pbj natural indigo jacket.. Think the measurements added a bit of extra length to the center back also which was needed imo. I'll to sell a kidney or something..the woman already wants to beat me for spending astronomical amounts of $ & I have just begun lmao.
the Japan blue jacket is pretty nice also.
I like how it is constructed more to my taste pockets seem slightly smaller & more centered on the chest.

Just bought this jacket, can't wait for it to come in the mail. How about some updates? Any cool fades? I will be wearing mine a lot. Under the Carhartt at work sites, by itself on planes and travel, summer mornings and evenings. Can't forget the fall.

Under the Carhartt at work sites, by itself on planes and travel, summer mornings and evenings. Can't forget the fall. I've barely worn mine handful of times not quite yet warm enough out so been wearing mine just around the house for now here n there.. see some very slight fading already in the arm combs. my only cry is that it doesn't have the slubby texture as the xx-007/012 deep indigo does.. It fits well formed to the body was a tad snug in the armpit/arm hole region but has loosed up now for me nicely. the arm movement is somewhat restricted while reaching upwards due to this, but I'm not familiar with denim jacket fits neither so hard saying if that's just how it just is. since this is first one I've owned in like 20years..

I haven't worn mine at all. I live in Minnesota, so it's not exactly an appropriate winter jacket. mine will have to wait til Spring before it sees any use.

I was having trouble picking between this jacket and something else with a more unique texture. This one just looked so cool and it was a good deal, plus who knows when they will make it again. I just couldn't pass it up. Hopefully it works out.

the scarcity factor is what made me buy it, plus I like how it looks.

it is a rare jacket to come across especially being somewhat off season to wear but glad it did:)
I'd be careful whatever u wear over the top this jacket chances are it will bleed into it with friction.
that is if u mind that of course.
I'm sure as hell ready for warmer weather so can get some great evo out this eventually.. really interested in the xx-020 denim would be impressive if they used that fabric to make the deep indigo jacket in future will get them electric blue hue even more. some might disagree since kinda looks to be to much.

I don't mind, look forward to the friction. I plan on really going hard on this thing, wish me luck!
Agree on the xx-20. Those age absolutely beautifully. A type II or III in that and I would be all over it.
Can't wait until The Strike Gold make jackets...that would be the day.

i'm ready for warmer weather as well. my problem is that I tend to buy most of my jackets on sale, which happens to coincide with the winter months. So I usually don't get to wear mine for awhile. The PBJ jacket was the first one that I paid full price for since they're damned hard to come by.

Hard to find good lighting in this hotel. I am enjoying this jacket though. Boxy, but in a modern way.

devastitis, this is the PBJ Deep Indigo. I will update with wear shots taken in a nice sunny environment, once those conditions exist where I live. Thank you!

We should have our own PBJ type 2 evo contest nothing drastic like needing to wear it every day but just to see how our jackets look after 2-3 months of wear

I'm down hell 3 of us so far own this be interesting to see.
it is a bit boxy but all the denim jackets Ive owned have always been a type 3.. seems to be softening up a bit now so should tame s bit of that down.
Have got about 10days of wear in already & can definitely tell going to be faster fades than my xx-007 deep indigo.
someone mentioned a type 3 in an earlier post which I don't think they make:/ funny thing is a while back I asked them ->(pbj) about making the 18oz into a type 2 or 3 & said next year could be a possibility but they said type 2. since haven't seen a type 3 from pbj. I'm assuming that's why they only told me type 2.
anyway pbj said next year they will but I'm not sure if they meant 2016 or 2017 since was around New Years I asked.

I'd be at a slight disadvantage because I won't be able to wear mine for another 2 months minimum. But I'm still game

As to the boxiness, it's definitely stiff which I think lends to how it drapes on the shoulders. I think with constant wear it should loosen up and not look & feel as boxy. The only drawback I can think of with this jacket is that it's not meant for layering. If I wear a tee underneath it's perfect, but if I wear a thick flannel it feels tight.

wabisabidid you see that Okayama Denim has the natural indigo type 2 up for sale? $380 and it's a 17.5oz denim u sure about this everywhere I looked says 13.5oz. I hope it is 17 might go ahead & just buy this one also here real soon. why not have both hell with it I like how this one fits but the length concerns me a bit on the center back which I measured earlier & this is 26.75 inches says 28 for a 4 in the natural indigo but when I check rivet & hide plus blueingreensoho they differ compared to Okayama.

Email OD about the length to be sure. Same with the weight. You could buy 2 denim jackets from Denimio or OD for the cost of the natural PBJ. Been eyeing the Japan Blue type 2 because it's 16.75oz and it's only $180.
