This thread is caviar. Expensive and salty. "The doctor will see you now, @stevekas. Don't mind the crickets and the rust-beetles scuttling among the nettles of the sage thicket, and watch out for my busted leather flintcraw that's thrown over the loose weave of the saddlecock. I'll have to conduct this examination in the friscalating dusklight."

hahaha, the IH hyperbole train keeps on rolling. they awight. So true. Not sure how a two color buffalo check is getting this much wood. It's a nice shirt at Rakuten pricing and a total head scratcher at IHUK/SE pricing. I am sort of interested in the indigo dyed ones coming soon, but the Lumbersexual Choo Choo has kinda turned me off of the brand as a whole.

bentin and bugula do you have any of the UHF from Iron Heart? They really are a superb fabric, great construction, snaps are sturdy although I would like a natural material over plastic but whatever. They are warm soft and wind proof.

They are warm soft and wind proof. I've seen and held the UHF, and maybe that's where I'm confused. The buffalo check is boring, and a pattern that's been available every year of my life. I can see if the raa raa brigade is excited about the UHF in general, I'm just baffled by the excitement over buffalo checks. I guess it is the first one out... It's 93 here too, so going all bananas for a hwavy flannel tight now just isn't working for me.

Same weight and fabric different design. Like my 102 and 107 are basically the same fabric just different colors and pattern

I think the point about Iron Heart is that they are very well-built. Will you pay about 4 times what it should be worth? Yes, you will. It all comes down to personal preference and taste. I will say that a flannel itself is nothing special, but the quality you are getting here is definitely several levels up from a typical flannel shirt. The same generally applies to their jeans. I can see Bentin's point to some degree, but all brands have their fans and you certainly have to admit that Iron Heart is making good quality clothing. Now, do we all need to dress like lumberjacks? Probably not a great idea for most of us most of the time.
If you don't like it, don't buy it. Just like anything else...

Man I love the fabric. $175 is a lot but to me it's worth it. I wore the 102 and my alpha parka in sub zero windy weather and a freezing Patriots game and it's damn good. Wearing the 102 on my bike is also great for the wind resistance.
I do not think they are $300 shirts honestly I don't think any shirt is worth $300 at all.
The pattern or color is one thing if you don't like it it is what it is. The fabric is just amazing. I do like the western way better than the workshirt. I feel IH has inferior buttons on the workshirt. Sewed on great but too small and plastic. Should be natural and larger.

As for the IHSH-127s (the three buffalo checks covered in this thread) I believe only the greyxblack was made into a work shirt version.
There are two Ombre flannels coming up in redxblack and bluexblack that will be both WS and Western, then there is also the maroonxcream buffalo check that will be WS and western, then also a turquoisexgrey buffalo check that I believe is only WS???

Do you have a catalog with release dates to Rakuten by chance? I had a link a few months ago that had the release schedule for the products being released in Japan but the link does not work anymore for some reason. Which shirts in particular were you wanting to know about?

Nothing in particular, just wanted to see what the new releases were going to be, if anything struck my fancy and were going to be released to Rakuten.
