Sports is not something I've seen come up much here. Don't know how much you all are into it. I'm a baseball nut (Go Giants), but I love football too. So:
A.) What's your team, college and pro?
B.) Do you play fantasy football?
Me: Florida Gators (ouch), SF 49ers (double ouch). And yes, I do. Like a giant dork.

Always hated the Skins, always hated the Cowboys. Loved watching the Dolphins because I grew up watching Dan Marino play. Hate the organization recently because we're stuck year after year without any real success, but unwilling to rebuild. I told myself I was going to quit FF this year, but got sucked back in so I'm in two leagues. |

I'm not a football guy (because the Vikings suck) but I do like baseball. unfortunately, having a 2.5 yo makes it difficult to go see the Twins. when my boy is older I may take him to a St.Paul Saints game

I'm a Falcons fan, because I love all things Georgia, by default.
I don't get too see many games because of the strange hours they show over here.
And, any Saints fans here are no longer my friends until February

A). Patriots since I was a kid and got stuck with the Pat Patriot helmet for neighborhood football. Bledsoe/Parcells reinforced my blind loyalty. Been married into the "12th man" unofficially for the past 3 years. Made for an interesting Super Bowl last year (let me just say I can't bring that game up at home to this date).
B). Yep, I'm in one league. Reigning 2-time champ. Smoke and mirrors. I won the first time with an 8-8 record and I think last year I did so at 10-6? I've managed to get hot at the right time.
I thought it would be fun to do a Denim Fantasy League here where the winner gets a pair of denim (either their choice or something agreed upon). But I partially don't know if I want to mix my hobbies...or get sucked into another league.

I did Yahoo last year, after 5 years with ESPN. League voted, we're back with ESPN this year. No one in my league liked the Yahoo format.

I love football, like Basketball and Baseball is a fun excuse to drink beer in public.
As far as football, Broncos and Cardinals. I can't wait for the season to start. Been catching some pre season games which are always fun because your team can get it's ass kicked....but it's not really your team so just laugh it off and watch the hopefuls work their asses off to get signed.

I'm grateful that the judge overseeing the case opted to call BS on the suspension. Similar offenses (Brett Favre lying about the cell phone violation and countless other players) at most received a fine. Kinda sucks from Kraft agreeing to the $1M fine and loss of draft picks.

The Roger is an idiot, but I actually find it hard to completely absolve the NFLPA on this. The CBA, which the players signed!!!!, gives the commissioner complete authority over punishment. There's no arbitration procedure set. There's no appeals process set, except to appeal to the guy who meted out your punishment in the first place. The players should have thrown a fit about this when the CBA was signed, and they didn't. Like I said, I think Roger is a complete moron, but the union agreed to a contract which gives that moron complete authority. Shame on them.

During the CBA discussions, the NFLPA was shown to be led by the wrong lawyers who didn't fully have the players' interests in mind, and lost on all negotiations. I think the theory was Kraft hoped he could fall on his sword for the team and Brady. |
