They run a little small. Normally I wear a L, but an XL in these. I have one and can do a fit pic. They are true vintage in shape in that they are sort of v-shaped in appearance, but not as comical as the Strike Golds seem to look when new (I don't know if they stay that way, so don't shoot me Strike Gold sweats owners). My wife likes it on me, FWIW. Haha. It is a flattering shape and doesn't make you look like a 20s circus strongman like the SGs SEEEEM to do. But it still retains the vintage look and feel. To me, if feels/looks much more accurate to a classic sweatshirt than the exaggerated SGs. From what I know about you and the sizes you wear, it seems an XL would also do ya right. Sure man everybody has its taste thats cool. I love wearing both authentic fits as well as modern slim fits. Wanna try out the 301s too soon, possibly the SBG one 8301S they fade nice. Have a look at the joe mccoy 991 or 991xh, nice slim fit. Will post a pic of mine when I have a minute funny you mention the 991xh - i almost grabbed a pair last week. they're near the top of the list - would love to see 'em on. Hi bugula these are some older pics but hopefully should give you an idea about the fit. I usually wear waist 30 but in these I went 29

Now, be aware brentkuz that unlike the SGs, the Buzz Ricksons do NOT have a sewn/set-in "vee"/"sweat catch" like classics: that is, it is not a separate piece of fabric sewn into the neck area like traditionally done. The Deluxeware has that detail (because I love my Rickson so much and I know I'll wear the shit out of it in December through February, I have one of those on order too from since, like, July with 2nd on Rakuten, but they are back ordered until late October), and The Real McCoy versionhas it too(that one is impossible to find at a decent price). Toys McCoy, Warehouse, and Studio D'Artisan may all have one also that is like that, but if I remember correctly I didn't like the styling on those. I think I remember the Studio one looked like a sweatshirt from Zayre's my Aunt would send me nearly every Christmas in the 80s. But, for the price, I don't mind the Buzz not having a true sweat catch vee placket. It is soft as hell, looks nice, and the price is hard to beat. EDIT: Holy shit, davito . Your style just kills it, homie.

I like the oatmeal and the grey They are snugger than you'd think in the shoulders and the waist/hem area. XL is a perfect fit for me. I'm 5'10 and change and 190 and 22 pit to pit/35-ish waist. So take that in to account. But also, I don't like an uber tight sweatshirt fit. I like it fitTED, but not snug. You may like it tighter. Also something to consider. Mine has a little bit of room (not much, just a little), which I like in a sweat.

Defnitely in the market for a sweatshirt. I was thinking BR (need to start using acronyms so I can fit in with the cool kids ) but the Deluxewear looks nice as well. Truth be told I just want something that fits okay and is made from a heavy material. On a side note, surprised there's not all that much about Studio D'artisan on here. just ordered that shirt I posted earlier, think it looks great! They have a few interesting pieces as well as repro kind of stuff: Out of my price range and not really to my taste, but could look great on the right person I think (made from nubuck leather):

How are the length on these? I know sweatshirts are supposed to be shorter but I hate it when they are too short.

My XL is right at the spec 27" from the collar ribbing to the bottom of the sweat without washing and hang drying. Another reason you might opt for the XL instead of the L is the L is a whole inch shorter in length. That's a lot.

I received a 20% coupon from Bonobos. Should I use the 20% off coupon on the Suede Bomber, or get 30% off the Wallace & Barnes MA1 jacket from Jcrew. Decisions, decisions.

Correct me if I'm wrong, davito , but The Real McCoy's have 3 separate loopwheel sweats, right? - Ballpark: boxy, heavy weight. - Military: more fitted, heavy weight. - Joe McCoy 10 oz.: lighter weight than the other two. Is that right?

Broke down and bought the XL navy buzz rickson sweatshirt from QS-Gate. Hopefully it's the loopwheeled goodness that I crave. Had rakuten points got it down to $76 using them.

Is that right? Sir I can only speak for my ballpark which is not loopwheeled afaik. Tubular knit doesn't mean automatically that the fabric is loop wheeled. Also on the other side there could be loop wheeled fabrics cuts sewn together with side seams (i.e. found on vintage pieces). I you look over on sufu in the vintage sweatshirts/tshirts thread there is a nice post of member Foxy of how the loopwheeling process is working. sizing wise the military ones seem to be one size up from your usually size. Other RMC/JMC are loop wheeled yes but I personally don't know which ones. You also find some details on superdenim.com . Hope this helps a bit
