I'm now waiting for my Super Heavies.. three weeks earlier than I expected. Hopefully be here by Friday, but expect next Monday. I'm so excited because these are my first taste in heavier denim, and I've heard some rave reviews for these. I couldn't care less when the Zimbs, Brown Organics, or Raw Umbers come in anymore, because I'll be too busy breaking in these bad boys in the meantime.

The 18, I was totally wrong.
I picked up the Black x Coal and it turns out I wasn't quite ready for 18oz. Once the sulphur smell dissipates a bit more I'll probably start wearing them out of the house, either that or I'll go hit up hot springs and then I can say I went to the hot springs and that's why I smell like sulphur.

Welp another blemish for Gustin. The army herringbone chore coat was suppose to be shipped out last week of October for an October slated delivery. No shipping motivation asked Gustin what the deal was and basically they didn't have an answer. Another late product which isn't the end of the world but not knowing what is going on with production does worry me a bit. I've been bummed about the less frequent updates, but it seems like they've been training up some new people, and they HAVE been getting better the last couple weeks. I'm expecting a lot of shipments this month (wabisabi and bxb workshirt, American Sixteeners, Japan Shine and Olive, Indigo Waffle Dobby). I've gotten updates all this week on different stuff, so it's definitely looking positive. next to arrive should be the Shine and Olive, which are supposed to start shipping in two weeks. I'm sort of doubtful they'll get all this stuff out in November since -- assuming they take the day after off -- the month ends three weeks from today. |

exophobe; neither, the Super Heavy is an 18 oz Japanese denim which is very similar to the 18.5 oz Kuroki that Lawless has.

and despite all the less than stellar reviews on the workshirt, I still think the Japan Olive with the Italian Brown x Black workshirt is gonna look awesome.

Finally got my waxed trucker in the mail today and so far so good. The quality is definitely top notch and it's a nice heavy and stiff fabric. The only minor issue I can see is that the left cuff seems noticeably smaller than the right, but we're probably only talking about fractions here. Otherwise, the coat fits me perfectly and looks awesome. In short, i'm very satisfied with my first Gustin purchase.
For sizing reference, I'm 5'11, 185 lbs and ordered a size large which fits great.

gaseousclay; that is so weird about the left cuff on the Gustin truckers. Both of mine (Waxed Brown and Black Canvas) have the same flaw and I have heard countless others post the same thing on the G community several months back...very strange.

It didn't occur to me earlier today but I should add that the reason the left cuff felt smaller was because I had my bulky G-shock on, which makes it more difficult to get your wrist through the sleeve. When I took my watch off it wasn't even really an issue. Something to consider. Overall I'm very pleased with my purchase. I like that the coat has some weight to it, plus it's just a very stylish jacket. I'm just bummed that I'm not gonna get much use out of it for another 6 months since winter is almost here. It's supposed to snow next week  |

Got two updates, the Zim WS is cutting this week and sewing next week and the navy chinos are a week ahead of that. I really want that WS by my Thanksgiving trip so I can roll into North Carolina, the land of Cone Mills, rocking some new denim.

But I do think that if this continues then Gustin needs to do something about it I do notice this with my Dark Oak Trucker. Sometimes I have trouble getting my hand out of the left one, while the right one slips right out easily. With a watch on, forget it. I have to take it off to get my jacket off. |

My Super Heavies were at the post office, ready for delivery on Saturday. Haven't been at the business where I have all my Gustins shipped. I'm going to go pick it up sometime later this week. Can't wait to start rocking them.

Backed white hydroflask. Got an orange but the daughter snatched it so now shes getting a brand new white one and I can have the orange back  Perfect for going fishing |

I got the white one as well. |

If you don't have much experience with it, these are gonna be so dark they look black, don't be alarmed! It's typically a very deep shade of navy. I recommend against washing them or soaking them right away if you're looking for fairly quick and dramatic fades, but if you want them to stay a deep navy for a long time, you may want to consider it. Also, unless you want them blue, don't tuck in white shirts, don't wear white shoes, and avoid light colored belts. |

I doubt I'll give them a soak even though I want to appreciate that dark navy color for a very long time. And I already have some black Nike's that I'm putting off on wearing until I get them hah. this will be my 2nd raw denim purchase after my ub201's that I somewhat regret because they fit too baggy throughout my legs but the waist is fine. Oh, and the inseam is a bit short for me, I'm 6'3 with long legs. |
