I think a lot of the items many of us wear are timeless, classic pieces that looked good 60 years ago and will look good years from now. However, the one thing that I do think will phase out will be skinny jeans. I think that's one thing we'll look back at a few years down and say..."that just looks silly"...well I already do say that now but you know what I mean. I'm honestly surprised they are still around.

I think the skinny jean will come and go and come again. We couldn't get our Levi's tight enough back in the 80's. Now the bell bottoms Hell No!

We're not considering rock stars as real people though, right? Like that they've moved beyond trends and are untouchable to the common man? Those dudes have been making jeans skinny since before there were skinny jeans. The only thing that changes is how difficult it is for them to obtain them. If not, then, sorry bud, skinny jeans are here to stay. Hem widths may change over generations, but there's always gonna be some dude up there strutting in skinny jeans, and kids running out to get them so that they can look like that dude. It's been going on since Mick Jagger was 19 or some shit.

Even so, taking rock stars into consideration I still dont think I'd agree with your point. Skinny jeans haven't been prevalent in rock n roll since the days of 80s hair metal bands. The early 90s grunge era pretty much killed that trend IMO. Even bands that previously wore the skinny jeans in the 80s loosened up their britches and changed their hair styles as the 90s rolled in. Sure, there's probably still the bands and artists out there that do rock some skinny jeans and the trend has obviously come back recently, but I don't think it's nearly as widespread as the hair metal days. That being said though, I honestly haven't paid a whole lot of attention to what rock stars are wearing these days.

All of punk has pretty much stuck by this since the Sex Pistols (even as the definition of punk has become quite questionable). But you've also got the Sticky Fingers cover that has been discussed in other threads, f!@k Mick Jagger still wears skinny jeans. There was the Korn period in the early 90s where nu-metal was all dressed up in JNCO, but as far as fads in rock fashion go, baggy or loose-fitting clothes would be defined as the fad, rather than skinny jeans. I'm pretty sure Metallica cut their hair but kept the jeans, they just don't do acid or stone wash anymore. Dave Grohl would be on the skinny side of slim with what he wears. I'm sure it isn't 100%, but these guys only seem to put down the skinny jeans when they're too fat for them, and some don't even then (yngwie malmsteen, for example).

YEP. As long as there's rock and roll, there will be skinny jeans. And as long as there are boy bands, there will be skinny jeans Honestly, I don't see that look going anywhere anytime soon. Mainly because it's very inexpensive and easy to carry off. A pair of black skinny jeans can be worn with just about anything.

To me the difference in the current trend is big dudes wearing skinny jeans. Skinny guys will always wear skinny jeans and no one will mind, when big dudes wear skinny jeans, that's when I have issues. Hell, I look like an idiot wearing skinny jeans and it's not like I'm very big. It's something a few guys can pull off and the rest of us should be glad women wear them.

lmao...damn that's hilarious.
I don't know, I guess guys but I don't think you're really convincing me that the skinny jeans are always going to be in style when the examples that you're busting out are Yngwie Malmsteen and One Direction. I'm still sticking to my guns, they will be phased out within the next 5 years or so I know it! I will start a campaign to make sure it happens! #operationeliminateskinnyjeans #saveyourtesticles.
