Let's look at this glass half full: When Gustin evolves into the high-end boutique brand, we will all have a ton of denim with sick fades that people think we spent WAY more on then we actually did. Benefit of getting in on the ground floor

With Lawless coming in, Gustin price point suddenly is being position right in the middle that I believe it is a bad place to be. If I am value focus, I go for Lawless. If I am detail or brand focus, I go for the Japanese brands.
For Gustin, I cannot think of one specific reason that it stands out. Frankly with the lack of response of all the issues and continue to ignore some of our requests, they may have given up on us or looking at an exit strategy. Just pure speculation thou.

Benefit of getting in on the ground floor I know we have been hyping up Gustin for a long time but there is truly a huge difference between Iron Heart/Sugar Cane vs. Gustin in quaility, fit and details.

How many of us started with Gustin as our first Raw Denim??? I had a pair of KMW and a pair of Naked and Famous. Could it be we are becoming snobs? And are just expecting much more (not a bad thing, I expect a lot more when I spend $300 for a meal then when I spend $75) . Maybe that's what you get when you spend $250+, a guy who goes over to the stock pile and measures a few pairs for you and sends you the right one.

Gap raw Chinese selvedge for me. Still haven't washed them, wear them occasionally and it's been 1.5 years.

First, no. First place I sunk some green and faith into, yes. I don't regret it a bit. I've had nothing but first class service and items that fit. But I've run my course there until either something really badass comes along, and/or a big shirt makes it's way in that I want. I can see buying more gear there though - love the aprons, belts, bottles, etc. Not done with Gustin at all, just looking for new items for the closet. I don't get have 30 paris of denims and never seeing wear on many of them...

Yeah, I cold soaked the denim shirt I got, but unless I always wear a Tee under it, I will have to wash it. I don't sweat much naturally, but I quit antiperspirant and just use deodorant now. Not nearly as effective for the pit odors...

On a positive note, the IxI chore coat material would make an interesting 5 pocket pant.

Thanks for justifying my next purchase or two to get up to half of your total.

I've got 5 pairs in rotation (BEAST now for fall/winter and Gray HBone as a spring/summer). For the most part just my OKs are my daily wear and my Japan Standard as my "nice" out on the town. I'm going for Fit now. With no 37" in the past none fit just right (except the BEAST). What Bugs me is my Zim's that sewed up at 39.5+. Its hard to back anything without any responce on what Gustin is doing to fix this. I'm afraid this may be there responce, none. Which will keep them in the bottom tier (below Naked and Famous).

The 18 zimbs are exactly how much store credit I have. It could be my last Gustin hurrah. Very tempting considering I love the normal zimbs and haven't taken them off since I got them. I've also successfully had self control and don't have anything comparable .

I agree with a point that I believe Wisdom touched on. Gustin, to me, seem more like a fabric broker at this point. They are simply more interested in finding interesting fabrics and selling them to us, while a third party sub sews that fabric in to our desired fit. Lawless (Roman) on the other hand, are craftsmen. They find the fabric, they ask us what we would like to do with that fabric, they ask us what details we want put in to that fabric, and then Lawless themselves actually craft that material in to a product that they are proud of. I honestly believe that Roman has the skill and capability to sew up some material in to a pair of jeans, shirt, etc....and loves doing it as he is a craftsman who likes to work with his hands. I am basing this solely on the videos I have seen where he is operating a sewing machine so to this point it is somewhat speculation, but this is just the overall feeling and impression I get. When you are dealing with a craftsman, as opposed to a broker, the craftsman will tend to have much more pride in the end result that is the product....the craftsman will tend to have more pride in his/her work because they are building the product for you themselves...it is an art to them....and they want you to be happy with the product they have created for you as they have put their blood, sweet, and tears in to creating that product. When you have a business owner/operator who is also a hands on craftsman of his particular trade....well then you get the best of both worlds IMO. I don't mean to get too sappy with all this craftsman talk, but it is 100% the truth. And I'm not trying to talk Lawless up too much without receiving a product yet (hopefully soon , but everything that I have seen and experienced so far in regards to Lawless/Roman and how he deals with his customers and runs his business, leads me to believe that he is a craftsman who has pride in his work.

Within the confines of "natural" and just being a deodorant? i'm not a voracious pit sweater (back/butt/legs a different story), so no anti-antiperspirant is usually ok for me. it keeps the stank away for me really well though and the scent is pleasant and not perfumy/overpowering. they have other scents and an unscented variety. my g/f switched over after trying mine last year and has also been a fan.

I'm sorry, but I haven't seen a picture of a Lawless product yet that looked quality. They all end up awkwardly shaped and those are just the ones publicly posted.

I feel the same. There is a disconnect with buying Gustin that I don't feel with LD/Roman. We'll see how it pans out - it's a lofty goal. But I will wager many here are in the same boat. I think Gustin hurt themselves by not fixing certain issues and not coming online to talk about them lately. Just my 2¢

Gustin was my first entry into raw denim. Now, after a few under my belt, it will take something special, or unique to prompt me to buy more jeans. I still have more things in the pipeline, but my purchases will be less in the future as I don't need more blue jeans.

Not sure why the double post, but I know Lawless is tweaking their stuff as they get input. Most of it looks pretty good to me at this point. Looking forward to the finished shirts to be posted later today.
