Who makes these? Boston only gives you a few options....one is a phenomenal maker... Who makes them? I thought BR makes them..... Are you saying they outsource? Pardon my potential ignorance but Buzz Rickson has a UK contact address figured they were a UK company. I didn't know they had a factory in Boston if I knew that I would have been there yesterday!

I didn't know they had a factory in Boston if I knew that I would have been there yesterday! Buzz Rickson is a Japanese company. They have a UK/Europe storefront (buzzrocksons.com) and a main US web "stockist" (historypreservation.com) and Self Edge also sells some of their stuff. The boxes say Boston because the shoes were produced under specifications from the Boston Quartermaster Depot. They might have historically been produced there as well. Not sure. But the Buzz shoes are made in Japan.

So they are not made in Boston at all?

So they are not made in Boston at all? No. They put that on there for authenticity to the original shoes.

I believe all Buzz Rickson goods are made in Japan, with the parent company being Toyo. Same company that produces Sugar Cane, and I'm sure others as well.

And the production factory for the shoes is referred to as either Asian Enterprises or "Oriental" Enterprises on a variety of sites, saying it is in Japan. So, Japanese made. And made well.

Its so ironic that you have to go to Japan to purchase excellent quality, American style workwear, and WW2 reproduction goods. Now if only they would start making stuff in a bit larger sizes, to fit a lot of Americans. I'm talking shirting.

Its ridiculous. I weight 185-190, and once in a while IH makes an XXXL that has a 48-50" chest, but a lot of their shirts are smaller than this. But, Charlie at Historypreseveration, told me that the average size Japanese wears a 38" chest, so there you go.

I don't plan to do any J. Crew shopping any time soon. I'm shocked that he needs to size up so much in IH

Yeah like the jcrew CPO from last winter I'm a medium but for the 33,62,07,21,107 I'm XL. I am a Large in the 102 tho.
I'm 215-220lbs 69.5inches according to my doctor last week. Mostly upper body length as I am a 28/29" inseam.
Trial and error I guess.
