I just got my very first Gustin shirt from @rmccall who is great to deal with. However, the fit of shirt is really poor on my body. Both the shoulder and chest are very tight and the armhole is very small. And then the shirt goes straight down and the waist is loose. The sleeves are about .5 too long, so I cannot even size larger. I am very fit and do go to the gym four times a week but definitely is not big. Is my problem typical for others? I am now very worry about the fits of the work shirts.

Wills, How does the shirt compare to the specs? I too, am concerned about the WS fit, and am holding off on anything else till I get it in hand. I figure if my Postal does not work for me, I am done with Gustin as far as anything but possibly jeans. If Roman can deliver, he will get my business.

let me go home and measure it. The shirt doesn't look horrible but it is not very comfortable. This is probably the weirdest sharp shirts that I have. I feel this is designed for a very specific body shape.

I am not a huge fan of the Gustin classic fit either. It seems like it's cut for guys with long arms, a short torso, and very little difference between their chest and waist measurements.
The tall fit solved a lot of my problems, but I doubt it would do the same for you if you already find the sleeves too long. And anyway, the tall fit seems to have disappeared down the rabbit hole for the time being.
It's a bummer because I really like the look of some of the shirting fabrics Gustin has come up with lately.

It was fine for my 40" torso/waist though. Arms were OK too. For sure a different cut, but if I had a one-size larger and Tall, it would likely be perfect. When you have a larger drop, shirts and jackets are a bitch...

This shit scares me bc I went XXL classic in the WS but was leaning towards the slim XXL or classic XL. We shall see if it'll end up in the BST

I think the fit is pretty solid on the M for me. I have quite a few Banana Republic Tailored Slims in M and it fits just a little looser than that on me in the chest and about the same on the waist. I'd measure at 39" in the chest and 33.5" at the waist and while I'm not a gym freak, I do pushups/situps, run 15 miles/week and have a two pack of abs.

I think Gustin shirt is really designed for people with your body shape. I am relatively bigger on my upper body and smaller on my waist. Btw, I look at the shirt again and the front pocket is small... anyway, I don't see myself get another Gustin button down shirt until they have a different fit and bigger pocket.

I think people overall should have better results with Lawless, in that, in chatting with Roman, he assured me that because they make their garments in house, they inspect each garment as it comes off the table to ensure that it is correct to what the customer ordered. Seems like this would eliminate 99% of the sizing issues from other vendors.

Yeah, I now ignore anything on the store page that is a shirt. G shirts, you are a cruel mistress . . . so full of promise, but in the end, bitter disappointment.

Yeah, to be fair it only has a 2" drop in their size guide from chest to waist. I have a 5.5" drop on my actual measurements and plenty of guys have 8" or more if they're in really great shape.

I was skeptical about the shirts for a long time after looking at the fit pictures including the one on the Gustin's product pages. There are much better alternatives out there in this price range.

I have a closet full of Gap Lived In plaid shirts. I usually get them on clearance for $25. Imported, yes, but the fit is great, the fabric is nice-ish, they are well constructed, they pair well with denim, and if I find that I don't like the pattern/color as much as I thought I would, I pass it on to someone else.

I have an 8'' drop from chest to waist roughly and the fit doesn't bother me too much, but I totally understand what all of you are saying. They definitely don't fit me like the TS shirts do though, that's for sure.

G might have reeled me back in if the slim fit was more of what we were hoping for...but i think they missed that boat as well. ickes i'm guessing the sizing works for you because of your preferred style. it seems, as far as i can tell, that you're more on the relaxed/untucked side of the fence than myself. i tend to tuck at least 50% and prefer a trimmer cut in most shirts and pants.

I have a 10" drop from chest to waist, so needless to say, all my shirts have a little extra room at the bottom. I agree with Ickes, in that TS comes the closest to nailing the fit for me.

I have 8" which is why I want to try another maker. Gotta be custom or semi for me. Every now and then I get lucky with off the shelf, but not often...

Do you guys with the crazy chest to waist drop off have to get your shirts tailored to fit/tuck properly? That sounds like a lot of extra fabric to tuck in.

Yea, David, timing is everything. I wouldn't have ordered the Gustin Postal, but because they said the new shop was Quality, I decided to give it a try. On the downside, I read where History Preseveration will not purchase Japanese branded shirts made in the US, because of quality. Hoping for the best.
