I'm about to do the same... But, after a wearing my current pair to work 3 out of the 5 days this week, I will surely send them to RFG to be tapered. If I wear them enough "as is" I'll grow numb to the bagginess, but it's not exactly the look I'm going for. I need at least 1.5" taken out of the cuff diameter Is RFG Railcar? couldn't see a response to this, so just in case: yes - Railcar Fine Goods

Dammit, I need a pair. Buy a half inch too tight or an inch loose?

Dammit, I need a pair. Buy a half inch too tight or an inch loose? Depends on how the thigh measurements work for you. I went a half inch too big. 17oz canvas doesn't seem to stretch much.

After getting the Old Blue Denim Co. Duck Jeans, and the Gustin Duck, I am allll about duck pants now. I have to look into IH. I am assuming, though, that I'd probably have to get them tapered.
EDIT: Yeah, just can't do that leg opening. Darn it.

Just received shipment of my second pair of these today in brown ( have the khaki already) and good god these things are awesome. The fit, color, fabric...awesome. You've heard it all before I know...but they're rad, you should buy some, and if you don't then you're not rad.

In all honesty I do like a straight cut and both my 816s are size 32, but I can definitely see how the cuff opening might be too big for those fellers with the bigger waist sizes

But in all honesty, an 8.3 inch cuff would be pushing it for me too at that waist size. I'd be a 34 in these, and that jumps to 8.7. A 36 waist and up jumps to 9 inches plus. That's...large. A 40 is 9.6! That's larger than the diameter of an NBA-regulation basketball!

I honestly don't know that I could go much bigger either, thankfully I've managed to keep my waist size down.

It's the upper limit for me, but I like it a lot and is a nice contrast to the tighter hems I have. So at that waist size, that would be a nice flattering cut as you mention.

I think you might be surprised david2403 at how good a lot of colors look with both the khaki and brown 816s. One of which is black, I really think the brown 816s look good with a black shirt and/or shoes. I know some have preached the "no black with brown" fashion rule in the past but eff rules, black really looks good with the shade of brown that the 816s are. Indigo/blue is an obvious one that looks killer with both.

Thanks Yeah, I don't wear boots. I don't own one single pair of boots, so I'm all about sneakers. I should specify though the Chucks I wear are the AllStar 70's, fyi.

I personally can't do sneakers with a wider cuff pant. Blame it on the troll feet or the large cuffs I donno. Boots to me are at home with the more rugged nature of 17oz duck canvas.

Yeah they definitely work with boots that's for sure, it's just I cant seem to find a boot that I really dig...I don't know. They just aren't my thing. I can't find one that's my style.

The shade of brown itself is just so great!

I'm probably going to give my 816s a first wash and was wondering how much shrinkage to expect. If you own a pair and you have a minute let me know your experience.

I took my 816s in for hemming over the weekend now that the weather is a little cooler in AZ. I can't wait to pick them up and finally start wearing them. Happy days.
