Does anyone have recommendations for leather boot lacing that doesn't suck? I've tried getting spools of leather lacing from Michaels, and I'm constantly having to change them out because they develop weak spots and break.

You could give these a try. I have not tried them myself. You could also try the other boot manufacturers Red Wing etc. I know any boots and shoes I have leather laces in, I do apply leather conditioner a couple times a year or so. They seem to get dry. wescoWhite's

Thanks @winterland. I've only been getting about 10 wears each out of the last spool of leather that I bought . . .

I picked up a pair of leather laces from my local sporting goods store that sell hunting boots, and gear. They were a little stiff at first, but they softened up nicely after applying some White's LP. Work great for my White's semi-dress, and look like they will wear for years. I know Red Wing stores carries them as well.

I have a pair of red wing work boots that was going through laces like crazy. I tried leather and it didn't last much longer. Then I got some kevlar laces, they're kind of expensive, about 10 bucks, but they have lasted me almost 2 years now.
