Ordered some grab bag denim. And got...wait for it...black loomstate in the size I ordered them in. Which is to say...about 2 sizes too small since they are loomstate. WHY would Gustin put the exact size loomstate in a grab bag when they KNOW it's gonna shrink??
What can I do from this point? Never wash them ever? Haha. They fit perfectly unwashed, buuuut...once they so much as sniff water, they are Shrink City USA.

That's unfortunate. I would assume the loomies would be the grab bag exception (and not the Naturals).
My GF opted to support my denim habit during my 90 day no spend, and she scored the Natural Indigo Cheese Dye. If I don't opt to dye them with kakishibu, they will be for sale (most likely the latter).

I've contacted Gustin. We'll see what they say. They are 36 Slims, which are a little big in the waist, but just right in the thighs for me. I am a true 35 (maybe a touch under), but have to wear 36 slim in Gustin because of the bigger thigh/rear area. And I go slim because I loathe a giant cuff.
So they'd be just right for a true size 34 or maybe a touch under.
I don't know how it would work out if I got into the tub with these on and let them dry on me. I know it would prevent the waist from shrinking too small. But after that I dunno. I could always get up, go outside and light the charcoal grill and stand next to it to dry off hahahaha.
EDIT: My other grab bag denim was Zimbabwe Ultralights. Which I dig.
I also ordered two grab bag shirts. One I haven't received yet. For the one I have received, I have no idea what it is, but it is a lightweight chambray of some sort that is very very.......hmmm.........how to describe how it feels.......hmmm........there's an adjective to describe this cloth that I just can't seem to think of.......it reminds me of some sort of spreadable dairy product.........ehhhhh, I'm stumped.....anyways...you get the idea.

I believe the word you're looking for is "butter wrapped in gauze from one of the finest mills in the galaxy"...yeah I know that's not one word but you can't describe the feel of Gustin fabrics in one word dammit!

This was one of the rare occasions they actually had a grab bag in my slim XXL shirt size. I haven't had much luck with my 2 past backings. But, I decided to throw caution to the wind, anyway. I was fully expecting an oxford, a funky plaid, or a basic twill of some sort. I guess it's true what "they" say, though....3rd time's a charm. I opened the bag to find a Rainbow Neps White Chambray. I'm pleasantly surprised by it. The fit is good, and although a lighter weight(4oz) than I would typically buy, it will definitely be a great summer shirt. At full price ($109), I would never have even considered it. I'm glad I rolled the dice on the grab bag.

Well, Gustin did me a real solid. They are sending me a new pair in my size and letting me keep the Loomies. So there ya go. Very nice of them. Other the other hand, my shirt grab bag came in, and it's this buttery-looking monstrosity:  Oh well...win some, lose some. |

She reached back to G and explained they sent her the wrong size (not sure, but they agreed) and they in-turn sent her the #167 Italy BlackXBlack. However, I think she may have had the right size (33 slim) the first time, because she got me 33 skinny this time around. I'm gonna try them out. I own 0 black denim and the size specs actual mirror my Japan Standards that I've had for over a year. Not sure how these Gustin black leggings will look.  |

To her credit, she did offer to buy something for me from the stock store if I don't like the fit. I don't know why she doesn't listen to me when I mention my 90 day no spend, but I have a feeling her shoe collection is growing as an indirect result.

I decided that smuggling plums in my jeans wasn't for me and returned them. I think that was best for all. |
