www.oledenim.com/Any of you heard of this company? They/he sounds pretty new to the denim scene, although, I think I saw an instagram post that said the owner used to work with the guys from 3sixteen before starting his own brand. Not sure about the pricing though.

Thanks for the interest! Yes you read the 3sixteen quote correctly, Chris used to intern for the company a few years back. We are new to the scene, we introduced our jeans to the market in the middle of June. We have a website and an online shop at www.oledenim.com/. Check us out and send us a message if you have any questions at all.

Even though it is Ole' not Ole, we will try to not have any Ole and Lena jokes. Is the denim you use specifically made for you or is it stock fabric? Kuroki makes some nice fabric.

Haha, thank you for the warm welcome. The material we used for our first run is stock fabric. Kuroki has a production schedule that we follow to obtain the fabrics we specifically wanted to use. We chose the vintage 13 oz as almost our core product and the slub 15 oz knowing that Fall is right around the corner.

Any chance of doing something a little heavier, and or unsanforized?

Any chance of doing something a little heavier, and or unsanforized? We are from the prairies of Canada where raw and selvedge denim are not prominent and the lighter weight 13oz has done a great job getting people into their first pair. So it's really cool to have people excited about a pair of jeans, I remember buying and wanting to wear my first pair of raw denim every day just to evolve the denim. But to answer your question skies the limit in our opinion, I'd love to work with both heavier denim and unsanforized one day! How about yourself, what do you look for when you're purchasing jeans?

Contrast stitching.

Oh, and texture. A little bit of a story is nice. I absolutely love my Nihon Menpu 11oz Rogue Territory. They're great even in our current 40C summer. They have a decent amount of hairiness and a nice feel once you get the starch out.

Me: tapered slim fit with decent but slim room in the top block without a tiny rise, and tapering to a leg opening of 7.75-8.25", contrast stitching rather than tonal, no arcuates (but understated if there are some), interesting fabrics that aren't smooth and shiny like Gucci or something and most likely are slubby and/or neppy, a good color that isn't too bright blue, good faders, not too soft as I don't want to feel like I am wearing blankets on my legs (and soft jeans don't really fade well), and usually a weight above 16 oz., though I'll go between 12 and 16 oz. if it's cool/rare/unique fabric.

Do you guys do anything fun with your name? I'm thinking red pocket bags would be an easy thing to play off the name and make things unique.

Yes our name is in reference to joy and excitement and our slogan is "Fit to Live" which is part of a MLK Jr. quote. We are pushing the lifestyle of doing what you love and making sacrifices to get to whatever bar you have set for yourself. Currently we try to stay involved with our community's events as well as run events through our stockists. We really want to get new and old denim heads together and have that as the common ground to meeting new people.
I do like the idea of a red pocket but we have designed prints on the front right pocket with a hand stamp of what number of the 250 pairs we produced.
