10oz Japanese Jacquard fabric. Warm and fairly wind-resistent. Reverse is almost better! Nice Job Freenote.

The road to success is paved with Failures.
Trial and error. Don't be afraid to make mistakes--just mitigate the damages by not compounding.
Buy from stores with a liberal return policy and rid your self of: "its bad to return stuff" mentality (in hand gives a completely different perspective than online), and take as much time as you can with a product before removing the tags (This gives time for the 'honeymoon' phase to wear off)
Over time you'll discover what works for YOU and what doesn't fit in with your (fill in the blank).
The beginning of the journey is a time for exploration and expanding your style's boundaries, but don't get carried away because you will comeback to your center of what 'works' for your day to day.
Thinning the herd of less desirable items is a necessary part of this journey and in the end will leave you with only the winners.
Separating the 'chase' from the end result (of an epic wardrobe of usable/useful tools) is easier said than done, but it is part of this 'game'.
We are all still learning and refining...

I cant recomend them enough. Heritage luxury at its finest. The cut of their standard fit jeans are the nicest form fitting pair I own. Worst case you can return (please check on this) if you aren't enamored with em hows the rise? Short? The denim hound did a review with measurements and many photos here: thedenimhound.com/denim-reviews/shockoe-atelier/kojima-standard-cut/Hope that helps

The 163 is a great shirt, a nice departure from both the western and work cut. The wide collar gives it an old school vibe. Over-sized MOP buttons and the fabric's sheen/drape give just enough pop. The 80/20 wool poly blend is scratchy--not terrible, but bare skin 'feels' it. Really happy to have the Olive and Grey in my stable. Thanks for the good word ickes

@scooter I hear ya man, I grabbed their last #9 knowing it was a flyer, but that price seemed too good to pass up.
They run some random deep discounts (I remember a few from seasons past) on occasion.
Glad you could take advantage of that size 11, and let us know what you think when they arrive.

Vermilyea Pelle X Blue Owl Wenatchee Belt in Roughout Horse Hide: This belt surprised me by how dense it was. It reminded me of taffy in its pliability/sturdiness in spite of its relative thinness to my many thicker cow leather belts and must be felt to be fully appreciated. They have matching wallets ( bentin ) that are super clean and let the leather do the talking: The darker inside leather gives a great two tone look when opened: Lots of colors to choose from in the non rough out variety, I'll be glad to keep this WA brand in mind for the future...

Cottager Plaid, medium weight oxford cloth from an Italian mill, hand made in a small scale family work shop in Northern Italy. The spread collar is well executed and is a nice difference to most of my other shirts. It opens the neck up and ties nicely into the slope of the traps/shoulders. Here is some shots of the inside: Mother of pearl buttons have a beautiful depth to their slightly iridescent dark blue color and are a beefy thickness that is uniquely satisfying to manipulate. The very bottom of the buttons show a sedimentary like layer of baby blue that is a gem of a treat for the inquisitive observer to ponder... The sleeves, when cuffed up twice, form perfectly around the contours of my forearm, hugging them with nary chance of flopping down inadvertently. Typically I cuff most sleeves a third time for aesthetic reasons, but this shirt feels so natural with just two that I can't argue with it's logic... This is my first Italian shirt, and it's fun to add it to the collection of fine hand made American, Japanese, and Portuguese shirts, and compare all the details: differences and similarities. Well done Shockoe!

Yeah Ive been checking out Nine Lives but their fits look way too tailored. I feel like I might be able to fit in them but I wouldn't be able to move.talk about high armholes. Maybe I'm wrong..interested in hearing your thoughts disheveled I went with their Large, but I hear ya, the surly bartender looks a little fitted in his. Ill definitely keep you posted.

Self Edge is carrying the Nine Lives brand, and this DMT shirt is fvcking awesome, comes in two colorways: These guys are pushing the envelope and it's fun to see... Country Shearling Jacket: $4,200! Yak/Sashiko Riders Jacket. Not my thing, but I can still recognize brilliance! Fade Out blazers and chore coats, indigo henleys...the hits keep coming. Their stuff is out their, but not as far as Kapital, and I for one enjoy seeing their fresh, yet tasteful take on classic styles. Thank you kiya for introducing us to this rad new brand!

Stopped by Blue Owl to check out the Outclass South Western Blanket Flannel, The shirt fits me very well (size Medium), with my only quibble being a hem that is beginning to resemble dick curtains (not there yet, but I'd prefer a more subtle swoop) I feel the Aztec pattern is pulled off well with ( I count ) four different colored threads, woven together to create this complex, yet still classic jacquard. It's not too busy, nor is the pattern dull by any sense The buttons are a special disk of smoke grey mother of pearl, that shines just enough to catch the eye, with out taking away from the shirt's other subtleties. The soft Portugese (sorry bentin ) flannel is a nice thickness that won't overheat you indoors but will, I'd imagine, provide good thermal retention when layered up. Outclass's Wool Twill CPO caught my eye too... As did this Static Slub brushed flannel: Impressed me enough to cop their last Aztec shirt; I'm glad BO introduced me to the brand.

I've been curious about them for awhile because have heard good things on redditt and they offer both stretch and non cone options .how do you find the rise? The standards look a wee bit short in the front....but the back is higher then most so could be a good balance... Sadly, I'm too dumb to be able to answer this question, but the fit of the standard is snug--I'd hate to see what their slim looks like on me. That being said, I really like the fit of the standard and feel it looks flattering.
