After today's Beating of these jeans I think they'll actually be a nice looking and summer beater pair. If only they fit. whiskeyriver How do you like the jeans that you've had tapered by RC? Do you prefer the G Straits and have them tapered over the Slims?

IMHO, these jeans suck. I wish I had created this contest with a better pair. Next time (possibly in January), which pair? Should we make a S&S Anniversary contest? Or something else that others could get into? it hard to pick a good fitting New G Jean that will sew up right.

Left hand twill likes to be washed counter clockwise. Try holding down the water temp and spin cycle buttons together for five seconds to reverse the way the drum spins. Manufactures got sick of selling a different motor to the Southern Hemisphere and made the motors reversible years ago. I just put my washer on the left side of the room.

Sounds like everyone has American antique plumber crack jeans Yes but I'm wearing my underwear high (like an old man:) Kind of ok comfortable but looks horrible (but wearing a long WorkShirt).

Wearing these today and I keep asking myself "is this worth it?" Still have them on. The back rise is so low! Have to wear a Shirt with long tails.
When we're done this we should have a follow up contest and open it up to an experimental contest. I'd like to see what a commercial pressure washer would do to them.

got the salt and pepper canvas workshirt as well as the heavy black X coal work shirt yesterday... The fabrics are definitely cool but I have come to the sad realization that G workshirts do not work for me. The arm length and overall length verse the chest width is too much for me even with tailoring. This is a little unexpected as their button downs are perfect for me after I have the sleeves shortened. In the end I guess it is the overall length that is the problem. Couple of pics below but I am about to post these on the bay. I thought the same thing so had mine tailored (shortened in length by an inch). Then I washed and dried. Shrunk another inch+ which now made them very short and cropped looking. I basically ruined them. Try a wash and dry before you give in.

I don't see the reluctance to make a WS with the Heavy Twills. Must be some reason, wish they would explain that.

My Brother is into Japanese work wear and Kimono's. He also plays for the other team. The Dutch?! No, the North Koreans.

Zim WS only at 13%. I have a feeling, if it doesn't fund that'll be the end of the WS.

So I've bought over the past 5 years, 14 pairs (different brands) but regularly wear only 7 (through out the year). Not including some more interesting pairs like the HBones, Wabash. How about you? What's the buy to wear ratio? I thought we had a gentleman's agreement not to talk about things like this. You have the first grey herringbone Gustin offered (with the white squiggly weft), don't you? How have those worn in? My original plan was to beat on them as Summer work jeans but my wife liked them so they became my weekend evening wear. And being only 11oz (I think) they would have gotten torn up easily. So not a lot of change in them other then being very comfortable and an easy breakin.

Hope to get mine tomorrow (thought they'd be here today). Who got #1? Would that be of more a collector? Yes, we definitely need a fade thread! We definitely need a fade thread, but I don't think I'm going to touch these until the weather reverses and instead of getting warmer, it heads in the other direction. I'll give these a good month of wear at my nite job (cool enough to wear). Then a wash and packed away till fall.
