Cool that they still have some of the material. Easily my favorite Gustin purchase, if you don't own one, you should. Hmm. Always bummed I missed out. Yeah the hot wash pretty much solved the length issues on all my Cl-Lg workshirts. Can't seem to get the size guide up for this. Suppose a CL Lg should be relatively close to those like 2 years ago.(?) www.weargustin.com/fitguide

G throwing their hand into the monster weight denim. Nice looking offering. Still not enough to sway me to wear anything heavier than 17 oz.

That's such a stupid weight to flat fell. I'd imagine that's like sitting on a highlighter.

I just asked Gustin if these are in fact the same denim as the original Beasts. We'll see what they say. The original 26oz denim number was #111, and the current one is #364. I don't recall Gustin ever giving the same denim two numbers. I still have my Beasts and wear them on occasion, but haven't worn them since last winter. They did eventually soften up to feeling like moderately stiff sweatpants. Andy B.

In actuality, they don't appear to be exactly the same, as the original had flecks of lighter blue that was prominent, where these don't seem to have it, at least what i could tell from the pictures. Anyway you look at it though, if the Gustin cuts work for you, it is a good deal for a 26oz denim, for $200 bucks. Mine are still my go to pair when the temps start to drop, and they have lots of life left in them. As far as Gustin, the beast have the best fading as far as I'm concerned.

Dave,
I was thinking the same thing regarding the lighter flecks in the fabric. Matt Kong from Team Gustin just got back to me and said it is a different denim, so I ordered a pair. In honor of it I am wearing my original 26oz Beasts tonight. They do have some nice fading.

I'm in the PNW, and we have been having the Summers of all Summers up here. Currently mid 80s, and mid to upper 90s next week, and it has been like this since the end of June. Crazy times.

Wow, here in Dallas we've been in the 80s and low 90s, which caused me to bust out my 20oz Olives. Sorry about your heat, but thanks for taking ours.

I'm sure being in Texas, your more accustomed to heat. I've had to take a hiatus on my usual denim this Summer, and pretty much do the shorts and linen shirt thing. I've even thrown in some chino wears. I know it will be soon before I will be back into my normal gear though. Glad your breathable Oni's are working for ya!

We're normally in the 100-107 range right now. I actually like my RgT 11oz jeans up to about 100, but shorts do start to make more sense at some point. We've had a crazy mild summer, but I'd still love to get out of this state for somewhere that offered a little more outdoor potential year round.

So. Will the safest bet be to size 1 up or take a stupid chance that they corrected the fit? They were kinda small (tighter turns) werent they?

I sized up 1 on my beast to a 36 and they came with a 34 waist. So I'm going to say it will be a gamble either way. I'm glad I have to much denim right now.

I'm not picking up this new offering, as my old pair has a lot of life left in them. The original Beast came to me under spec, and took a lot of work to break, and stretch them in. If I were to order a pair today, then I personally would order up a size, especially that my preference is not to buy jeans tight anymore, and stretch them to "perfectness". Now days, they are perfect with a little room to move around in, and I don't want anymore tight ass jeans. This is what happens when you start drawing Social Security, lol

I sized up 1 too. My job involves working outside all year, so the heavy denim gets a lot of use in the cold months.

Wabash apron. G has access to what looks like good wabash fabric, but all we get is an apron?

Wabash apron. G has access to what looks like good wabash fabric, but all we get is an apron? A bit on the lighter side of weight, but I agree that it would make a decent work shirt. Gustin is not very good in being able to determine what fabrics would make the best work shirts IMO. They have served up many denims that would have made killer shirts, but they just don't think the way a lot of us here do.

Stephen Powell replied to my query. He said the fabric costs 2-3 times as much as usual shirting fabric so it's unlikely to become a shirt. I guess it's wait and see if ciano workshirts get rolling or go indigogene or ironheart

I just received that cheap chambray they have finished on the site now. It's thicker than the red chambray that I recently bought from them and a bit thick for my tastes. This is a chambray that will be more fall/winter than summer. It had a starchy hand and I immediately threw it in for a rinse cycle in the laundry to get some of that out. This is a very long way of saying, when I opened it up, my immediate thought was "work shirt" and that cloth is from Cone, and cheap. Ahh I see they are running it again..... www.weargustin.com/stock/520-american-sky-chambray
