Did you see the 3sixteen brown leaf thing @ S&S? yes. it's hideous. I blame this forum for making me hate 3sixteen tops (despite owning 3) I saw it and immediately embarked upon a mental exercise whereby I could imagine myself wearing it and NOT feeling like a f!@king weirdo. I could not do it. But ya know it's just ...........not for me. /boar hunting?

For me it's the weird blending of camo with a Hawaiin theme. Doesn't work to my eyes. But more importantly, i've grown to loathe the crosscut yoke on the back of their shirts. I now prefer a standard yoke on any Western shirt I wear. The 3 crosscut flannels I own have nice looking fabrics and they are warm, but they don't get as much wear as i'd like. Plus they kinda shrunk to the point where they almost don't fit, or i've gotten fatter

I'm SURE it is... I still love my IxI workshirt fit. It's as close to perfect as I have found.
But, I don't want to kill my no spend too much. The Duck CPO was my brainchild, so I definitely need to grab one

Long sleeve polos...no me gusta. Conviently, much like short sleeve polos for me. I own a few short sleeve polos, and have found myself veering away from them lately. These long sleeve polos, however, seem much worse. The cuff!! My god, the cuff!

I'm also a big pass on the long sleeve polo. It may be good for work for certain folks, but I have one long sleeve polo from Kohl's or something and it's one of the shirts that every time I see it in my closet, I ask myself why I own it, lol. Anyone have an opinion on the jacquard? www.weargustin.com/store/5783I have some Gustin credit to burn up...

That's a hard image to think of making a good looking shirt. Just seems like it would always look like a wrinkled pair of curtains from a 50s jazz bar. Just add nicotine stains.

"Our favorite jacquards are those that manage to use a woven pattern to add texture without being over the top. This American made fabric nails it. It's the type of vintage quality your grandfather may have found in his favorite jazz bar - this fabric can disguise and distract from even the dingiest pit stains, nicotine stains, and most other bodily stains - but don't expect it to get compliments whilst doing so." I opted for this Black/Plum instead: www.weargustin.com/store/5771

Long sleeve polos...no me gusta. Conviently, much like short sleeve polos for me. I still wear short sleeve polos to work a few days a week. I'd like to get away from them and just wear SS button downs, but polos are kind of the industry norm and I can go un-tucked without any second looks. The Carolina summers are just too hot to wear the mechanics, utility shirts, and other LS styles. I've also got a few company logo'd polo shirts...thankfully they are at least fitted and not that oversized golf shirt style you see on 99% of the people out there.

I also wear short sleeve polos a few days a week but pretty much only during the hot months. Like you said they are an industry norm that is never too dressed up or down for most occasions and workplaces and as close a t shirt as I can get. I don't have to wear collared shirts to work but I prefer to, and I'm a sweaty person so like you I have a hard time with long sleeves this time of year. I buy all Foundry brand large tall polos from JC Penney as for me polos are somewhat of a "throw away" shirt that I wear for a few years and as the collars and the shirt overall get beat up I'll get new ones. I don't hang my polos, so that may lead to premature deaths for them. So I guess I am pro short sleeve polo, and not necessarily anti long sleeve polo, but it doesn't really trip my trigger especially since the time of year that I would consider it wearable, I have a shit load of other awesome stuff to wear instead!

LOL so northcoast was already aware of the jazz curtain, and had simply forgotten. Just to clarify, you grabbed the swanky jacquard or the black/plum?

long sleeve polos wear out prematurely because the sleeve cuffs stretch. at that point they're almost unwearable. never again.

I think Bentin is correct in that the fabric of the jazz curtain would look odd. Thankfully I did not impulse buy.

I was looking at the Oxford cloth offerings, and I don't care for the collars, because there really isn't much/any collar roll to them. I did a quick look over at TS, and their Oxfords are the same thing. Is this something that anybody cares about, or is it just me? After consideration, I will pick up the Ratio Oxford, which I think the collars look much better, and get perfect measurements, with a similar wait time, although they are a few dollars more the G, and about the same with TS.

I'm a G oxford evangelist. I think it's one of the best products they offer and the collars don't bother me a bit. The fabric is very substantial and it's one of the shirts that when I put on I really look forward to how it feels and drapes. IMO the only way you can beat it is with a stick. (for QPR)

Aside from the price, I struggle to think of anything the Gustin does better than the Ratio. TS is a better shirt than Gustin, but now that they're making their stuff in random countries, they've landed on my Ignore list, and the Ratio is a better shirt anyway.

Cool that they still have some of the material. Easily my favorite Gustin purchase, if you don't own one, you should. No talls in workshirts! The cut is 42.217x better than their oxfords. But the first run of workshirts were really long, a few hot washes and a single run through the hot dryer helped bring it in to spec.

Yeah the hot wash pretty much solved the length issues on all my Cl-Lg workshirts. Can't seem to get the size guide up for this. Suppose a CL Lg should be relatively close to those like 2 years ago.(?)
