The Cone Jacquard #2 is very heavy to wear. I've only worn it twice so far, as it's just been too warm. Captain Cone-Luc Jacquard is no slouch in the weight department, either. I wore it for an evening in a cold movie theater and it worked out great, though. It may be worth mentioning that neither is a workshirt, even though the fabrics would be f'ing PERFECT for one, especially if #2 (you can call it Riker if you want) is thicker than the Captain. I've been wearing my Taylor Stitch version in the Florida heat (the western workshirt version). I feel it breathes pretty easy. I think it's truly a 4-season shirt, even though it's pretty beefy. Tough but easy to wear.

Yep #2 is 8.75 oz & would be a great workshirt, even if not selvedge. A selvedge version would have been perfect! It's very difficult to photograph, here's my overexposed arm...

The BxB chorecoat really should have been a shirt.

Has anyone got pics of a completed Japan Heavy Black Workshirt? Am tempted, but what pants do you pair it with?

DigDug - here's a quick pic I just took that might give you a decent idea: and this is the best one I took in the past, doesn't look like I shared it here. The one above definitely looks closer to the color. I've never had so much trouble getting a color represented in a picture as I've had with this shirt. This shirt is GORGEOUS

Thanks bclark, looks great! How different does it feel to the IxI ws?

Thanks bclark, looks great! How different does it feel to the IxI ws? Much stiffer and heavier. I wear the black more as a shirt and the IxI as a shacket and since I wear denim nearly everyday the black is easier to throw on whereas the IxI I need to be more cognizant of which denim I'm wearing.

I'd consider backing that one if it returned. But I would much rather some interesting new fabrics than the same denim jean & chambray fabric coming through.

anyone else think it's odd how few workshirts they're putting out this time of year? i'm really waiting on the original hickory...

As much as I dislike the lumbersexual sailor, I'd kinda like to see the TM cranberry in a workshirt. I'll wear it over my floral TS.

Compared to the rest of the year, a workshirt a week is pretty solid outlay. It seems they're working through their previous offerings, I wouldn't be surprised if a hickory strip shows up. Hopefully V1 and not V2 (aka the referee shirt). Train conductors not referees!

I have a v1 selvedge Hickory WS in Classic M that I've never worn or tried on. I may be tempted to part with it for a trade or cash.

Japan Heavy WS funded. Time for another WS to be added to the site, hopefully something new.

That navy herringbone workshirt is funding slowly.
I emailed them to ask if it was indigo-dyed (I suspect not), but they haven't replied yet.

Subsound I'd be interested in taking that hickory off your hands, if you're ready to part with it

I bought the wabisabi/khaki/zimb from bugula and I have to say that I understand the praise for the workzimb, it is very nice, its not that thick or anything it just is a nice fabric with a sweet tone to it. Im very surprised by the niceness of it irl contra on pics, what Im talking about does not come across the screen and i am pleasantly surprised, I would never have chosen this off of the pics but got it as a bundle and im glad I did. Thanks bugula! *waves* Mine was totally wonky tho, it was almost 1" diference on one side of the back to the other, but I only measured it after a hotsoak so dont know it it skewed in the soak/dry or not. I have now shortened all 3 shirts with the most amount I can still keeping the gusset/runoffs and just slightly tightening the curve. I got about 1" of the length and before it was entirely covering the crouch, but now its like 1" up from the bottom of the crouch so still long but wearable, and I suspect it will shorten slightly with creases and also a real wash.

hahaha, glad you're enjoying them!
yeah, i was surprised with the zimb shirt too but i'm just not a fan of the overall cut and am still trying to find that perfect denim workshirt.

Not sure if I'm in on it. I like HBT, that it's IxI. Not sure if I'm a fan of 8.5oz (could be nice and more useful, three season) but maybe not..?? $150? I'd do it for $120. ....

OK so Ren has confirmed that the navy herringbone workshirt is not indigo dyed. And agree that it is priced too high.
