Looks like sizing locked in on the Wabi Sabi and Italy BrownXBlack WS (and any others in this production group I assume). I was hoping the BrownXBlack sizing would stay open until group 1 was delivered (postal blue) and I could confirm my choice but I knew the risk going in so no whining. I'll either going to have three WS I like or three WS for sale based on the slim XL fit ha ha... I'm getting three in three different sizes, the brown black I sized to wear as a shirt, the other two as a jacket, so we'll see what happens.

I didn't think Gustin was doing shipping notices anymore. As I typed that I got the shipping notice for my Brown Heavyweight Belt. They must be watching me.

Now I'm just wondering why the IxI shipped today when the HS1 fully funded about a week or so prior. But that's just me being jealous.

David, that indeed is the one I ordered. I haven't received it yet, but I would expect it to be boxy. I usually give my dividend to my wife to pick her up some smart wool, or get the grandkids stuff, but this time it was all about me. I haven't bought anything from REI in ages, mostly because I try to stick to USA made stuff, but the dividend is use it or loose it.

You are correct about the waiting, but to be more clear I should have said I have been waiting for Gustin to make a heavy chambray since we first started giving ideas to G about work shirts. When Lawless offered it up, it became a no brainer.

this discussion seems to have moved to the lawless workshirt thread. Of the two shirts pictured on the Gustin community page, it looks like the one of the hickory stripe is actually sized correctly -- on the hickory stripe it seems to actually fit in the shoulders. On the IxI you can see the shoulder seams hanging about an inch past where the shoulders seem to end, resulting in a weird drape all down the front and most of the rest of the complaints. I don't think that IxI fits, but the guy wearing it seems to think it does, so more power to him.
Just one guy's opinion, but it seems like a poor example off of which to judge THE fit. I'm hoping these all come in looking better than that one (like the first pics of the Hickory Stripe), but I could be eating crow and in the same boat as the guys crapping all over it on the community forum like a fit check thread on reddit once it arrives.

I also upsized my first one (Classic XL) based off of the fit of normal Gustin shirts and an intent to wear it as a jacket, so I could end up with a giant skirt as well. According to Taylor Stitch when shorts are made up with those scoops they're called Dolphin Shorts... I hope I haven't ordered a Dolphin Skirt.

I think the shirts look great overall. As I posted on the G forum, the shirt could just be a size too big for him. I do not think it will shrink enough to be a fit that I would like as is. Will be interesting to see more fit pics as they come in. I would like to see more pics of the Japan Hickory Stripe workshirt that posted on G also. It looks like a lot better fit. Hard to tell the length and waist fit from the pics he posted. IxI Work shirt medium slim Japan Hickory Stripe workshirt in XL Slim

Hmmmm, that length is lsuspect.... If it wasn't for being way too long, I'd like IxI.... Tough to see the HS's length tho

My thing is, that if he's good with it, then more power to him. I think once it's been washed a couple times the fabric will ease and with any luck shrink and it will be a much more serviceable fit. By contrast, I don't think that hickory stripe can be buttoned in the collar, but through the shoulders and body it seems to be a much nicer fit. I've found that I can tell if a shirt is too big by how the back behaves when it's hanging normally, and this isn't visible in either set of pics. I'm withholding judgment til I'm dressed up like a railroad conductor all on my own. The only thing I'm worried about (still) is that the new sew shop actually measured and cut the patterns correctly, as opposed to the shop doing the other shirts (see "measure, find your size, order one up" Gustin shirt sizing philosophy). If they're based on the same patterns, then sizing XL should be just about perfect for me given the way I want to wear it.

To take this a different way, those angle pockets aren't nearly as distracting as I thought they would be, I like the way it all works together with the white stitching. If this one comes in fitting well, I'm really excited for the wabisabi. If it doesn't I'm going to spend the next month and a half sad knowing I have another shirt coming that will fit the same way.
