I sort of want to try a pair of the boots. I wear a 9 in New balance and a 7.5 in Iron Rangers. Anyone know what size to get with these bad boys?

My 8,5 just shipped. I have no idea if they will fit. If not I really want to trade them and not sell, I actually need another pair as beaters.

I got my naturals today. Im moving so have seriously little time but i can tell you they look absolutely dynamite! The pics does not do them justice by faaar. Also mine were darker, mayke they aged by the time G finnished them haha.
They are substantial and seems really very well made. The sole does feel waxy wich is bad bc i wanna put a thin sole on...No go?
I only tried one but they feel half a size big so feck...but i will do a better try tomorrow.

Boots coming in late. False promises on lead times encourage me NOT to order sneakers/boots from them in the future. Not sure the juice is worth the squeeze.

My white sneakers came in within the scheduled estimate. They said oct/nov and they came in early November. Natural boots said nov/December and I'm scheduled to get them today. I love my sneakers. I'm hopeful I'll like the boots just as much.

You do know what the difference between a projection and a false promise is right? Yes, A status update similar to "boots are complete, we have a tracking number, and will ship out next week (middle of December)". Compared to: 12/30: Due to year end, our factory has put a hold on shipments of finished boots, but we expect them to start shipping first week of January. We'll have your order out ASAP. Thanks for your patience 35 Slims sewing up to 33 Skinny Jeans? LOL. I'm looking forward to having a pair of boots, but the lead time is killing me. I scored a pair boots from Truman Boot Co., and that order was placed near the end of October, and they're expected to arrive today. Lead time/projection is right on target.

Thanks for your patience B. 35 Slims sewing up to 33 Skinny Jeans? LOL. C. I'm looking forward to having a pair of boots, but the lead time is killing me. Let me put my G-man cap on for a moment (just kidding it never comes off). A. Hmm I still don't think you understand what a false promise is. That is still a projection, it's off, but still a projection. A false promise would be to make the same projection, but not ever deliver the boots because the company never had intentions of fulfilling the order in the first place. Hence bentin's spot on comparison of CF (projections that are off) vs. LD (false promises). B. Sh!t happens, but granted sh!t seems to happen with G more frequently than other companies (understatement of the year?). C. This isn't a fair comparison. Comparing a company that specializes in boot making, and controls the entire process from beginning to end while charging a premium for it, vs. a wholesale boot production operation from a denim company, doesn't really make sense. You aren't paying $199 for Truman boots, nor are you paying $500+ for G boots. Expectations should be different. I am going to probably go the Truman Boot route myself, and I will hold them to the highest degree of quality and timing. If I do end up spending the last of my credit on G boots, it will be more of a back it and forget it type deal.

So I got my natural boots last night, just under the wire. First impression: These are pretty comparable to 1000 miles, with a few minor differences, so I'll compare them. 1: They are larger by at least half a size (at least in size 13) than 1000 miles; large enough that I probably could have safely gone down to a 12. I wear 14 in most athletic shoes, and 13 in a lot of dress shoes/boots. I think I'm too lazy to return them and wait 4 months for a 12, though. I'll just wear heavy woolen socks with them 2: The 270 welt is generally pretty good, but the leather at the start/finish of the welt are a little wonky. Nothing that can't be fixed with a razor blade, and not too obvious from more than a couple feet away. 3: The leather seems thicker/tougher (in a good, durable way) than the 1000 mile, at least in the brown CXL. Not quite double thickness, but easily 1.25-1.5x thicker. 4: Toe has a slightly lower profile 5: Heel padding markedly better in the Gustins, at least for now 6: Soles are nearly identical--might put topys or lug soles on them eventually. 7: Gustins have 4 speed hooks, vs 3 on the Wolverines. I'm debating taking these to a cobbler and having them change them out for eyelets/grommets.
Couple other things: color is what you'd expect for Horween Natural CXL--looks darker and richer than the website iphone photos, unsurprisingly.
Final thoughts: I don't love these as much as I love the black hightops, but they are a pretty solid effort, especially for the first run, and they are well-built. They aren't Wesco or Viberg, but you can get 3-5 pair of these for that price. Also, f you're conflicted, I'd size a full size down. These are larger than their other shoes, too (I wear a 14 in CT/athletic shoes, 13 in the Gustin shoes, and these should have been a 12).

Most of us have been frustrated with delivery timeframe and/or QC with Gustin at some point or other, but they always deliver, or if they don't they make it right. They are upfront about their business model, and those of us who choose to back their offerings know what we are getting into. Are they frustrating/maddening at times? Do I wish they'd listen better to customer feedback? Do I wish they'd have their work shirt shop sew up some of their flannels? Have I had to send back ~15-20% of the jeans I've bought? Yup, but they are honest and I think they actually do a pretty good job within the model, where others have failed. Vent your frustrations, but I'd be careful about potentially libelous accusations. Happy New Year!

Yeah, I went TTS with Wolverines, because 12 would have been a little too tight. I could have probably stretched them (at the expense of toe blisters), but 12.5-12.75 would be an ideal size in Wolverine. 12 in these, I imagine, unless I have an outlier.
