oh, and to throw some snark at the copy, the best craftsmen in the world work for companies like Hermes, they're not making Common Projects knockoffs. I think I'd argue that the best craftsmen in the world work for themselves, but maybe that's just my Ayn Rand view of the world......

Even if the G sneaks don't fund, I'm sure they will go through for at least this round.
It must feel bad to put all the effort into sourcing materials, marketing, and production and then have the item barely fund.
I wish G would comment on why they think the shoes didn't work out for them as they thought lolol.

Only when you have enough money to work for no one the rest of your life do you truly work for no one but yourself. And Ayn Rand lived on Social Security and food stamps for the last part of her life, so I guess you could say she worked for no one at that point. Those following her philosophy in government today are enacting policy that would have killed her.

I wish G would comment on why they think the shoes didn't work out for them as they thought lolol. they're 1/5th into the funding period. Let's not get too hyperbolic. If they were a failure they would have removed them from the site by now. if the minimum run from their manufacturer is 400 pairs, they might be in trouble, if it's 200 then they've (likely) more than met that already, so they'll be able to make them without losing money. Plus, if they're still hitting 50% margins on all their other product, they're making more than enough to cover the R&D (well, R) on these shoes, and that's just part of doing business.

Yeah, I think devastitis has this right, until they're delivered and people can review them, I think it's too early to evaluate their success, or lack thereof. I'd assume all of these campaigns will fund and they'll fund any underage and sell them through the Elitist Stock Store.

I guess my observation is the best craftsman I see are in direct contact with their customers now, not thru the veil of an employer. The internet has (mostly) removed that need.

Rand had some great points don't get me wrong and it was a good read. Plenty of good craftsman work for companies. Especially now. Not many Thomas Edison's around.

So far, it's OK. The vid's are kinda funny - I'm a political agnostic, but let's remember fellas to keep things cool here. Any battles over this will get nuked, post-haste.

Ayn Rand is like a Gustin shoe... Aren't we all, in the end, like a Gustin shoe? We look all pretty and new when we come out, but in the end we age quickly and fall apart...

I have a couple thoughts on the blue, but first, I noticed it's now Vachetta leather, so I looked it up, and thought you guys would appreciate this: Vachetta leather handbags are the most beautiful and the most problematic of all conventional leathers. Vachetta is premium cowhide leather used by the top brands, and usually only in their most prestigious collections. It has a buttery soft appearance that just melts against your skin. The vachetta story is a simple case of paying the price for having something beautiful. In any case, the thing that bothers me about them is the apparent stretch along the length:

Also, with wear, things will settle and look great. Buttery. LMAO!.

Those blue ones, with some black knee highs and a walker will be all the rage at the retirement village. The male nurses can utilize the white ones too.
I was checking out Epaulet's shoes, they're still not my thing, but sure look better done.

Gustin has removed the fudged-up fit guide for their sneakers and replaced with:
"SNEAKERS
Gustin sneakers run true to size. If you typically wear a US 9 or EU 42 in dress shoes or Converse Chuck Taylors, or measure 9 on a Brannock device, we recommend ordering a US 9 in these as well. We make full sizes and recommend you order down to the nearest whole size if you're between sizes - if you’re a US 9.5 in dress shoes or on a Brannock, please order a US 9."

So screwy as I wear a full size under my Brannock in Chucks.

This is why shoes are harder for me to buy online than pants. Even in AE, I wear different sizes depending on the last. But generally, these hold true:
AE/Brannock - 9.5 Chucks - 8.5 C70's - 9.0 Wolverine 9.0 New Balance - 10.0 Puma/Adidas - 10.5 La Sportiva climbing shoes - 8.0
Cycling shoes also end up all over the place, anything from a 41.5 to a 43.0.

Only tried them on, but I could get away with an 8.5, they're a little roomier than Wolverines.
