Back in black today at TS. Who's going to enable me with discount codes so I can break my 90 day to get my inner Johnny Cash on? I really like the look of the long haul as it's a type iii silhouette with a much cleaner design (I'm just not a fan of all the stuff on the front, but recognize this is the classic design so many people love). I also don't wear much black, but this thing looks pretty good.

yep - had to go and check right now because i didn't even remember doing that. I find the cuff thing strange. maybe it's just me but I dislike wearing any jacket with the cuffs unbuttoned. I have no doubt that the 3sixteen type 3 is a nice jacket but the tight cuffs are a deal breaker for me. this is one of those products that I would have to physically try on before pulling the trigger

The one I have isn't waxed though but I'm selling it for cheaper than this TS one.

I am in Florida with 99 degree weather and 80%+ humidity. I wear jeans and a long sleeve button up with the sleeves rolled up. (shrug)

Really depends if you work inside or not. Inside you can pull trousers/pants/jeans and a long sleeve button down year round. It's being outside with the heat and humidity is what will get you.

How about Outside building a retaining wall? I find a TShirt just gets stretched out and doesn't hold its shape.

I don't see the point when you can just roll up your long sleeves and it's pretty much the same, and it's not overly hot in our weather.

When your carrying a 8 foot landscape timber or reaching through an engine compartment the bunched up rolled sleeve catches on everything. I get that it's not as good looking. But a heavyish twill short sleeve just works for A laborer. Holds its shape, not as red neck as a tshirt.

C'mon, you're an olde timey New Englandah. You should be doing everything in a Pats sweatshirt and cargo shorts year 'round.

Obviously, "labor wear" is a different story, my brutha. Wear the shit out of those short sleeves. I'd be doing the same. To hell with fashion at that point, haha.

I think, with the record they're currently sporting, most have disowned the Sox this year. I don't think we'll need to worry about a case of Pennant Fever this season.

Most of my shirts are long sleeve, and I just roll them up when its warm, but I do have a couple of Carhartt short sleeve twills, that I use for hot laborous activities, (which I do my best to avoid) lol. Picked up the Carhartts on Sierra Trading Post, for pretty cheap, and no worries about messing them up.
