I think of that paisley corduroy shirt I had once upon a time... My only defense is that I was born in the 70s, so some of that had to have rubbed off. BUSP or it didn't happen ...

Fashion is about confidence. I do not have the confidence to pull off things which many of those on this forum can, but that doesn't make it look bad on them. Wear things which make you look good and others will appreciate it. Absolutely. Even when I see some people wearing certain things that I think look really bad, if they're wearing them with an obvious attitude of, 'I look GREAT in this thing', then I tend to have a sneaking regard for them and the piece automatically seems to become at least acceptable, if not ever going to win any awards. On the flip side, I often see people wearing great pieces of clothing but have either teamed them badly with the rest of their outfit or just don't carry them off with their general demeanour (or both) and it ends up looking 'off'.

I hate how things look great on others, but looks like complete s* when I try it, leading to me stashing it in the closet never to be seen again if it was a final sale.

Slim pants, untucked shirts, and now v-necks?? You really must be trolling, or my wardrobe would make you vomit.

I really struggle to see tucked in shirts in a casual setting as appealing. I always laugh at polo shirts tucked in, that's just impossible to pull off. But even long sleeve shirts tucked into jeans or khakis tend to look silly to me. An untucked, ironed, properly cut shirt looks nicer to me than if it were tucked in.

Haha! I rarely iron... As long as there are no HARD wrinkles, I go as is. Unless, of course, it's dress clothes.

My wife tends to throw everything into the dryer, so I iron lots of stuff. If I hang dry, it's usually fine.

I use a mixture of vodka, water and something my wife has - I think it's some herb extract. Spray it on and then put into the dryer. Come out unwrinkled and smelling great. Saves on times when I'd have washed them again. I'm a obsessive washer.

Btw, if there's vodka in my house and Mika chan uses it for laundry, there'll be a fight lol #DrinkOfChoice

I'll try it with gin, that's as close as I get. Sambuca would probably go wrong.

I've never started a fight in my life, but somehow, when I drink tequila, I end up in one. Gin, mellow. But it's gotta be good Gin. We've been buying this stuff and it's amazing - even the women love it. St George Gins We have been enjoying the Terroir, but will give the others a shot as well. Highly recommended if you like Gin. But too good to use on laundry

I'll check those out. I'm a sucker for Nolet's, but have been drinking Leopold's recently, it's clean, more of a British style, but still a little syrupy like the Dutch.

I would not wear a tie with Jeans / Denim or Chinos

Agreed on the tie. I untuck my work shirts long enough to walk my dog around the block, but Pinks and T&A are long enough to look really stupid untucked.

I'm sure your Turnbull&Asser shirts would be a perfect pairing for shorts & flip-flops ....

I'm sure your Turnbull&Asser shirts would be a perfect pairing for shorts & flip-flops .... Tucked in with a bolo tie and woven braces. I wonder if anyone makes shorts (lederhosen don't count) with buttons for braces?

I wonder if anyone makes shorts (lederhosen don't count) with buttons for braces? not sure if any designer was mad enough to "invent" that yet, but you could certainly fix it with some clip-on buttons (http://www.albertthurston.com/product_display.cfm?prodid=22&sid=1) ....
