I think I'm going to gamble and go for the elephant 3 in 34 skinny from blueowl. Hopefully it'll fit my waist. Does anyone have experience buying from BOW? They're good. They can measure the pants that you want and get you exact numbers. Reach out via email, they're quick to respond.

Took advantage of 20% off at Amazon to grab two pairs of N&F. The stretch pair... the less said the better. I'm not made for that cut of jean. Ick. The other, the beige selvedge chino, was a hit.

Awesome. My N&F Midnights are the little brother to the E4s and they're getting the same kind of fades (minus the cuffing).

Great start on those, Winterland. How do you recommend sizing, true to size? did you get any stretch on the waist from new?

Great start on those, Winterland. How do you recommend sizing, true to size? did you get any stretch on the waist from new? They came in right at 30 inch waist are at 31 right now my perfect sizing. I know their sizing charts seem to vary at different merchants. I went by Blue Owl fit guide which actually says 31 waist for a tagged 30. They are thick and stiff but wearing them just a few times gives them some stretch to form.

I love unique selvedge denim and became interested in the Sumi Ink coated jean Naked&Famous created. But really sold me on them was a post by Bahzad Trinos on instagram of the pair he had been wearing. link
I ordered these in the skinny guy fit. I wondered if this denim would smell heavily of the sumi ink. So, the first thing I did upon opening the box was smell the denim. It only had a slight smoky scent. The denim is very textural to the hand and kind of slubby the denim is so dark it is hard to see it. Also I tried on a pair of Kamikaze Attack jeans at Blue Owl work-shop a few months ago and these Sumi ink jeans instantly reminded me of the feel of that denim. I read that Brandon Svarc is buddies with the owner of Kamikaze attach denim co. So it would not surprise me if he was involved in the creation of these. These jeans are quite stiff when brand new. With the combination of the ink and the starch I could not button these up to wear them properly. So I did a slight warm soak for 1/2 hour. I was worried that the ink coating on the patch would come off. during the soak much starch was released and the water was a tad grey in color. But post soak the leather patch is still glossy black and the denim is still very dark. It was a success I can now button them up wear them properly. I intent to beat the Sumi out of these jeans to see if I can get some good contrasting fades. I work in a warehouse shipping&receiving department and help out on my family's farm when needed. So I am sure this won't be a problem! here are the new out of box photos to look at!

^^ nice. I was tempted to snag a pair of the sumi ink denim from East Dane - it's 40% off right now and priced at $132. But, I went with United Stock Dry Goods instead.

This fabric would be something I would like. Black that wears to blue. Unless I see another half price sale my E4s will have to do. Cool jeans though.

I just received these the other day. They are Naked and Famous Loomstate Denim. I ordered these in the weird guy fit. I wear size 36, and I ordered these in size 38 expecting a good amount of shrink. I did a tepid soak. for one hour. Just a little release of starch and indigo a lot less than expected. I hung them outside to dry for my own "TENPI" treatment. . when I put them on after drying they where still stiff but not over bearing to wear. I wore them for about two hours just doing chores around the house. And they now fit me perfectly. I measured the waist and it is 36 1/2. and maybe lost about an inch in length. The denim is pretty neppy with just slight slubbiness and a very nice indigo color. I think these will quickly become my favorite pair. And I intend keep them for a more dressy pair of jeans. And use the Sumi jeans for work. It was hard to photograph the little nepps or slubs of cotton. if I am using the terminology correctly. But looking at it in person. It reminds me of Oni denim. I have never seen a pair of Gustin loomstate denim in person. I will let you guys be the judge to see if this pair from Naked&Famous are comparable.

I've seen pics of GLoomies, but I haven't seen then up close like this. Look pretty sick!

What pair did you end up buying. regular indigo,indigo/indigo,or black? I went with the IxI in narrow fit because they were on discount for $100 (shipping included). I still haven't received them yet but I bought them to try out and to have as a backup pair to my 3sixteen shadow selvedge. The only pair of N&F I own are a pair of the olive selvedge chinos which I scored at a consignment store for $36. But i've never worn them because they still need to get hemmed. I'll eventually add more N&F to my rotation because they have a lot of interesting fabrics

Very Nice! It is good to see a photo how these look like being worn. I bet the electric blue fades will really make that light blue selvedge line Pop. Even more than is already is. I still really like the look of those Uniteds ! But with the rarity of the Sumi Denim I could not pass it up! Cant wait for you to post the progression of this pair of IxI as it fades.

I'm curious how the sumi denim fades for you. I still want to nab a pair of N&F denim but I'm unsure of sizing. BOW's fit guide is pretty accurate which means I'd likely wear a 33 weird guy fit. But my 34 WG chinos fit me pretty good as well so I'm torn.
It'll actually be awhile before I'll start wearing the Uniteds. I'll need to get them hemmed first and I still need to break in my 3sixteens. I also have a pair of Taylor Stitch denim being hemmed as we speak. Plus, I've got my cheap Uniqlo selvedge in my daily rotation because they're my beaters. So many jeans, so little time

Another Naked&Famous creation that caught my eye just before the Sumi inks came out was the Twisted Candy Weft denim. They where in stock at Blue Owl when I as in the store, but I was so enamored with all the other jeans Jay had in stock I totally forgot to even look at them. here is a photo if you guys have never seen them. What do you guys think of them? I would really like to see some photos of how they fade. But I think they have only been available since winter. So too soon to tell? I think it might be too much of novelty for most people. I think that is happening now with the copper weft jeans. I am ubdecided about those.

Copper twist may be a required companion piece to my Japan shine.

I think the twisted candy weft is interesting. I've actually started to veer away from some of the more colorful wefts I've seen, especially from N&F. I'll admit, the denim I've seen with green or red wefts look pretty cool but I honestly can't see myself rocking them without feeling like an ass. I'll stick with the basics

For some reason, I've never had any desire to back a N&F product. After seeing this... link , it has become clear to me why.

Some of their denim offerings are silly but at least they're consistent. I like the variety personally and the weird guy fit works for me.
